A dragon of her own choosing

Orchid had a hard start to life, an orphan before she had even hatched, a mother taken by the sea and a father exalted before his time. But she wasn't unlucky, her lone egg was found by Hale Platinum when he was monarch on a trip. He couldn't leave such a precious life behind, so he stowed it in his coat for the rest of the trip and that warmth from him was the difference between life and death for Orchid in her egg.

She finally hatched amongst lush foliage and warm silk blankets as any royal hatchling would, and was brought up alongside Arma Platinum as her handmaiden. Taught everything from how to act to her place in the royal world, she would be married off when the time came, to a suitable match. Orchid wasn't too fond of the idea but was far to thankful to the royal family to fight them on the matter. Arma and Orchid became very close friends, basically sisters by the time Arma was ready to take the throne.

Arma knew Orchid so well, and knew that her interests lay elsewhere, not in being married off to some unknown royal. So her first decree as monarch was to free Orchid from the arranged marriage and her handmaidenship, freed her to live the life of her choosing. Her first free choice was to head away from the castle and it's grounds, looking for her own adventure in the wider kingdom. But reaching the sea at the eastern edge of the kingdom gave her all she was looking for, the ability to have a small adventure every day, going fishing.


Orchid keeps many fish to sell as familiar as well as a large stock of fish to sell at the fish market.
