Descendants of the First Age, is the description of Imperial dragons in the encyclopedias of Sornieth. Yet, the entry goes on, they are strangely absent from the Light lands of their birth.

There are other dragons of the First Age, in the time when the gods walked the Earth. Imperials are the most famed, and in those times they wandered Sornieth, breeding freely, melding and blending, with others, and the unnerving sparks of primal energy still flicker in the eyes of even the youngest of their children.

Gaolers are not unlike Imperials, in that regard. They are variations within the most ancient of Sornieth's dragons, justice hard and cold among lesser beings. She is not a monster, nor any others of her kind. They are children of gods, greatest and first.

The extremes of North and South have watched the chaos rising within the rest of Sornieth. With the new expansions of the Ashfall Waste, even the eldest dragons of Ice have begun to fly North to call on a new king, begging favor of the Earthshaker in order to reclaim their melting kingdom.
