That's an ancient curse she awokeand managed to turn into a blessing by carefully training it with magic.
She left her clan because she didn't wanted to be associated with nature. She wanted to oin Water clans but shemet Nereis and the merchant's ship on the sea and decided to join the clan as they had bounds with her original clan and familiy.
She lives next to the sea, not far away of Alec's Ruins.

Charge

Alhocca knew it the day she saw his egg. She knew she had to watch upon the egg and the hatcling, and that he would be the most precious thing in her world.
But she also knew he wasn't like and object she could keep for herself : he was the hatchling of two great and powerful dragons she respected a lot (if a bit scary), and a dragon being with his own mind. And she thought it wouldn't be good for him to grow up knowing he was her Charge, as he might feel imprisonned and forced to live with her. As much as she wanted it, his own happiness mattered more than hers, and if she had to follow him anywhere he would go, staying hidden in the shadow, she would do it.
She hid as much as she could the fact she wasn't on her Search anymore, suffering a lot from not being able to share her feelings with the other Guardians and feeling very lost. She never considered the egg as her own child, but as her soulmate born later than herself. And if the said soulmate had to never know it to be happy, then that's how it would be.
When the egg hatched, she did her best to prevent herself from monopolizing the hatchling and she forced herself not to spend as much as she could with him, but she made herself available, and took care of the hatchling and his siblings in their youth. Then the others prepared themselves to serve the Windsinger, and Alhocca feared Lazarus would do the same - she would have followed him everywhere, but she loved the clan very much.
But Lazarus seemed very happy in the clan too, and decided to stay here.
She fought against herself during his youth years to refrain from staying wih him all the time, and tried not to stuck herself in the posture of almost a big sister nor a substitution mother, making their relationship rather fuzzy for Lazarus, who didn't know exactly how to word the bond that he knew existed between them.
He was suffering from an almost unnatural fear of moving water, a fear that always awakened the Beast inside - even being a Guardian, he had the hardest time trying to learn how to swim, and that made for him an excuse to spend more time with Alhocca, trying to vanquish this fear, without a lot of success.
Alhocca knew and feared greatly that very one day when Lazarus would go on his own Search and find his Charge. First, because she wasn't meant to accompagny him but she wasn't sure she could manage to let him go all alone, not knowing where he was and if something would happen to him. Second, because she was terribly afraid that his own Charge will draw all of his attention, as she knew perfectly what obsession a Charge could be to a Guardian. But she was determined to let him go, because she wanted nothing more than his own happiness. But Lazarus never felt the need to go on his Search, on was always postponing his departure.
Finally, Alhocca convinced him to go, saying that it was good for him, that he didn't know yet how much he needed it, but when he'll find out, he will know.
That's how he finally left the clan, reluctantly but convinced by his dearest chilhood friend, very much deep in thought.
She let him go, fighting against all her more powerfull instincts, only preventing herself from jumping in his steps by repeating herself she would follow him from afar because she didn't want to disturb such and important part of his Guardian life.
She looked at him disppearing in the distance, and stayed on the beach, unable to move, talons grasping the sand, with only one desire : hurrying back after him. She managed to fight against the urge a few moments - just the time for him to be far enough for ther to follow him from afar...
But at the moment she was finally hesitating to move, she saw him rushing towards her in the skies. He landed abruptly in the sand in front of her, panting, and he stopped for a second - and at that very moment she saw in his eyes the same eager she felt inside. He unfolded his large deep blue wings to embrace her, and she was shaking with emotion, fear and expectation.
Of allthings... if this could be possible...
"I should have followed my own instincts and never searched for something I already found." he whispered to her ear.
"I was hoping so much to ear that", she cried with a low voice. "But I never dared to think you would ever say them."
"I'm here, Locca. I'm here and I'm not going anywhere without you", he said gently, holding her tight.
"As I am", she replied in a whisper.
Then she lifted her eyes to meet his gaze, and looked at him intensely. For he had to understand, and to be the first on in so many years to know.
That's how Alhocca finally released the storm of feelings and emotions she was keeping inside and could be in peace with her Search.


Now, Alhocca and Lazarus are not hidding their Charge relationship anymore and they are living happily in the clan. Lazarus still lives in the woods and Alhocca next to Alec's ruins, but they spend a lot of time together. These soulmates share a strong bond nothing can destroy, and anybody looking at them only a few second would forget about the fact Alhocca saw Lazarus hatch and grow up in front of their sheer genuine joy of sharing their lives.

Alhocca helps Lazarus a lot with controlling his inner Beast, and that's when returning from his short Search that he decided to learn a way to travel the sea with her without swimming. That's how they both set sail towards the clan Alhocca came from, to visit her parents Verne and Uranie (and to introduce Lazarus to them, as she didn't even warned her mother that her Search was over), and to seek the wisdom of Aïssé, the ship crafter of the clan.
Lazarus and Alhocca lived a few months in the Viridian Labyrinth with them, Lazarus learning eagerly from the passionated mirror and even seeking new abilities from Yourcenar, decided to come back to clan with the role of carpenter and ship crafter, leaving behind him his life of violence.
The two of them often return to the Nature clan, and are very much aware grandpa Verne is decided to take home a children or two. Lazarus often comes back to his masters to learn more crafts and to share his work with them.
They get along well with Alhocca's parents and grand parents, and are glad to spend time with them.
