P E R S O N A L I T Y
Morokei - Glorious. His thirst for knowledge, unquenchable. His power, unimaginable.
Morokei presides unofficially over the Venerable Lair of the Tangled Wood with an austere, silent, cold eye. He is the powerful, stern leader of the clan, a position formerly held by the Plague dragon Vouel. While Vouel still leads in most day-to-day functions and is named as the leader 'officially', Morokei has lived for thousands and thousands of years and has been garnering experience, power, spells and artifacts since birth, and the clan defaults to his guidance. Few know where Morokei came from or how long exactly he's been around, and fewer still know what he's been doing all this time. The powerful male dragon, unusually large for a Skyancer, is cold and aloof, affectionate only to his young mate Elsa, and their babies. Morokei's power is unquestionable, and his endless hunger for knowledge and magic is insatiable—ravenous, even. He will go to any ends to pursue a new spell, a new alchemical recipe, a new experimental piece of technology, a new creation of the dragon gods. Whether or not he views himself among the gods, none are certain, but his arrogance has justification. He is a master of necromancy, alchemy, battle, shadow magic, and his Fiendflesh Armet and glowing violet eyes and clawtips indicate he is a master of the arcane arts, nevermind the not one but three elemental halos, and the Spectral Ghastcrown and its accompanying arcane regalia. He also wears the Crystalcourt Cascades in a shocking shade of bloodstone red, an item reserved for only the elite of the Earthshaker's court, which leads many to wonder exactly where he has been and what he has done. As stern and severe as he is, it is hard to imagine Morokei ever having a soft side. Morokei does not suffer fools gladly, and is strict and lacks leniency. On the battlefield he gives no quarter. Among his clanmates, he keeps to himself and serves as an arbitrator in disputes; his word is law. He is not one to brag, and if he does, it is with every knowledge that he can prove his words true. He knows what he is capable of, he simply feels that actions speak louder than words and if you do not already know the extent of his ability and power, well. One day you will. Morokei is irritable when pestered by younger dragons, easily annoyed when his authority is questioned, and often acerbic and judgmental. He does not appreciate Vouel arguing with him, cares not for the fact that he basically usurped Voel's position, and while he is dedicated to his clan and its survival, the only dragon in the world he loves is Elsa, his best friend and permanent bondmate. Ultimately, Morokei is cold, severe and serious. He is quiet for the most part, and when he does speak up, people listen. Despite his flashiness and his awareness of his intense beauty, his arrogance is muted and based entirely in assurance; he need not flaunt his power, for actions speak louder than words, and he knows what he's cable of. If you don't, that's on you, not him—and you'll find out eventually anyway. He is sardonic and cynical, witty, brusque, and has a low tolerance for idiocy. |

The dragon Morokei gets along with the absolute least is Vouel, who continuously butts heads with him and questions his every move. Morokei is also not fond of Starfall, Duilin, Sirocco, Xephras or Yula. Xephras is loud, stubborn, insulting (whether intentionally or not is debatable) and easily provoked to aggression; he is argumentative and Morokei hasn't got the patience for him. Sirocco is too hyper and pesky for him, Starfall and Duilin are both convinced they are things they aren't and he finds them obnoxious and arrogant, and Yula just gets on his nerves for no reason. He is also not fond of Aluella, Iozefina, and literally any of the Ridgeback females for mostly the same reasons. One of the few youngsters he tolerates is Loresce, Vouel's daughter, who is inquisitve and curious and eager to fight things. He has no quarrel with Aruhe and Ivesce, but he also never speaks to them, and the only dragon he would kill for is his mate Elsa, who he guards and loves fiercely, along with their children. He is a fan of beautiful things and considers Aedrus, Orion, Aehoran, Inachus, Nimhe, Vervain and Wisteria, Cyandra, and Urasha the most beautiful dragons in the clan—after himself and Elsa, of course. |
