Biography

SHANNON
TEACUP CIRCUS
Scribe/Map-Maker/Stagehand
Divider-Horizontal.png
An inquisitive and energetic fae the circus picked up on their travels, Shannon had worked as a scribe for many years when she decided a change in scenery was in order. She isn't interested in being a circus performer, but has given herself the job of recording everything they encounter on their journey across Sornieth, as well as planning the next route they'll take in to bring the show to as many dragons as they can!

Before joining the circus, she worked alongside Gaolers in the Southern Icefields, taking notes and recording their exploits in trying to contain a mysterious infection. She grew extremely fond of her superiors while working there, and still to this day holds some reverence for ancient dragons as a whole, but especially Gaolers. She is full of stories and tales from her old line of work, and will often share them with anyone willing to listen, wanting to share the ancients' bravery and tenacity with all.

Shannon is a bit of a workaholic and has no patience for those she considers "slackers". She doesn't seem to understand that not everyone shares her boundless energy and drive. While she has a close-knit circle of friends within the circus, there are others who find her to be shrill and annoying. Luckily for those dragons, she's easily distracted by her favorite delicacy, seafood. Offering her fish will quiet her down long enough that they can get a quick nap in.

Shannon is the scribe of the Overseers. You will certainly hear her flying frantically around, looking for her tiny and neatly prepped fish oil n' bug sandwich for lunch, yelling "WHERE'S MAH FOOD?". For sure, this fae would not stop working ever, except at night to sleep. Eventually, the hungry Fae will find the chief, her sandwich, and peace will return.

Unusual for a Fae to eat fish, right? Well, she does eat fish oil with her sandwich, because it adds "a nice taste to the sandwich, just like those squishy grubs".

Some would say she really should do that procedure to finally become the spiral she's always wanted to be. She won't. She loves being able to hide in the tiniest corner to spy for the most interesting gossips too much. The Tales of the Ancients about the Parasite Plague are her personnal favourites. She knows everything about it. She will write down everything she knows about it, and to do so, she needs to know every single little event, even insignificant, happenning within the Order.

Oh! A visitor, you want ot hear one of the Tales, right? Well, here's the Beginning. Heared of it already? ... Not speaking of the one about how our gods created our lands. Speaking about the dreadful events that led our dear Gaolers to create this jail here.

Once there was dragons, some the very first Plague Ancients. They seeked a way to spread diseases faster, and their belief that the strong shall survive. Eventually, they found a way. They made those eggs. Yes! The big chonky ones you can find frozen in our jails that ressembles dragon ones. They're disgusting. Wouldn't poke them with a stick. No don't do it.

And so, they gave them all to the Broodmothers. Yup, that very kind order of Guardians that took cares of abandonned eggs and hatchlings, within Water flight. How naive they were. They thought the Plague Flight could find redemption and genuinely believed they were being kind. Anyway. The eggs hatched. Parasites were born. They quickly infected the poor dragons who were bringing them in. The Parasites took control of them. They killed them all. And they laid more eggs.

So it started spreading. Back to Plague they headed, as those were the lands they favored. Oh of course they were happy to see their dear experiment to come back at them. They didn't mind. They enjoyed it, even. The strongest survived, the infected ones kept spreading the disease, and the deceased headed towards the sky. As all things should be within those decaying lands. You guessed that I don't like them Plague dergs a lot, right? Anyway, back to the Tale before I disgress.

The infected dragons were hungry. They didn't seem to enjoy Water lands fishy waters very much, and the dry desert that Plague lands was couldn't satisfy them anymore, so they headed towards Arcane territories. Oh, there was a lot of tiny little Faes to eat there. They ate them.

The Magisters informed the Gaolers of the matter. Of course the Gaolers helped. Well, they tried. They were outnumbered, and they lost. Even five Gaoler can't win against an enraged, hungry Ridgeback.

The Parasites seemed to now consider the Gaolers as a threat. They headed towards the Southern Icefield. But the Gaolers had a plan.

Gaolers gathered their best Mages and Healers. "Freeze everything onto our lands" was their last option. And so they waited for the parasited ones to come to them. And froze it all. The complete land was covered in a brand new slippery ice coat. It worked.

The Parasited ones were taken to the jails. Some survived the freeze, mainly Ice Dragons, and got locked away for further studying. The others? They were disposed of. Deep into the Sea of a Thousand Currents they lay.

Parasitic nests were found, eventually. There was attempts to dispose of them. But the eggs spilled a boiling mess of mutagen upon crushing. It would made every dragon grow dozens legs, eyes, wings, or... Other terrifying horrors. Have to admit, that is a great defense mechanism. So the Gaolers decided to simply freeze them all, and to keep them away.

So that's how we ended up here. Taking notes about what happen within the jail, hunting the remaining parasitic eggs out there in Sornieth's lands, and making sure the frozen eggs don't... thaw. Aye, we try their best to keep us all safe. Well, they do. Not me. I wouldn't even stand a chance against anything else than a little fae.

Oh -- you met that Gaoler in the corridors? The one that speaks about all the wonders of Fae's necks and Luminax's long whiskers. Did he told you that he wanted to show you the parasited ones we keep down there? Oh, of course he did. Don't go there. It's dangerous.

About me? Oh. Well, my story isn't very much interesting. You'd better go now.
