━━ about ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
Xanu is the undead king of his kingdom, brought back to life on the whims of an unknown benefactor, though perhaps benefactor is a term too kind to describe the gruesome scenery he first opened his eyes to. He woke up in a dark chamber he could hardly turn around in, surrounded by what looked like the disemboweled bodies of other dragons. Red seeped into the cracks of the cobblestone floors and walls, pressing against him, nearly suffocating him. He fled, and whatever happened in those days immediately following his apparent resurrection, he doesn't say. The Imperial recalls his past life nearly in full, but there are noticeable gaps in his memory. His childhood is comparable to wisps of half-forgotten dreams, more like feelings and impressions than recollections of events. His adolescence and early adulthood suffers similarly, but with more clarity as the memories come closer to his date of death. His memory is near perfect when it concerns the end of his life, but this serves to accentuate the holes in what he remembers, especially the days leading up to his death, of which he had no recollection. He believes that this is indicative of one of two things: that the resurrection had been botched in some way, or that whoever had been trying to bring him from the dead was maliciously tampering with his mind. After coming to terms with his new state of undeath, he was quick to resume the throne he left behind, surprised to know that his death hadn't even been announced yet. A stroke of fortune, though if he'd remained dead, he wasn't sure if he'd have said the same. He'd left no heirs to continue his line, so announcing the king was dead would be an invitation for a coup. |
