ebVT59G.png "It is the accuracy and detail inherent in crafted goods that endows them with lasting value. It is the time and attention paid by the carpenter, the seamstress and the tailor that makes this detail possible." - Tim Jackson

He is born in the Abiding Boneyard in the arid heat and overhanging presence of disease. It is not a place that welcomes or protects, and it would be a struggle to call it indifferent. It is not beautiful nor is it interesting. What kind of home could this be? It would've been called an unbearable place except for the fact that he was always surrounded by his family. Even the worst of places brightened if his family was there. His mother taught him to dance alongside his siblings, their matching opals glimmering in the hazy light as their father threaded needles and stitched cloth for the hatchlings to play dress up with. Though he loved his mother's dance, he always watched his father's work with curious eyes.

He had his aunt and his uncle (and his uncle's wife), and some cousins too, in this home in the Boneyard. His aunt was a rough and forceful mirror and his uncle a stoic and thoughtful imperial. Even for an endlessly energetic spiral, there was never a moment that he was left without a friend to play with and laugh with. They left the boneyard, he and his siblings with their parents, back to their parents' home in the Windswept Plateau. The wind curled around them, welcoming the children to the grassy plains and towering bamboo forests. And the Magnolia Realm was full of more friends, more dragons to play with.

While his sister is a bouncy ball in dragon form, he has some of his Coatl father's patience. He was always fascinated with his father's work in dressmaking, in tailoring and creating clothes. When he was a hatchling in the Boneyard, he watched his father work in the dim light and create uniforms and clean bandages for the army that they were sheltered with. When they came back to the Magnolia Realm, his father worked with the seamstress in partnership and he watched his father's work turn from utilitarian stitching to gorgeous draping fabric that was specially made for the winds to ruffle and flutter without getting into anyone's face or caught in wings or claws. The cloth changed from rough tatters to smooth bolts of fabric, some sheer and some thick knit. When he was old enough to be trusted with the needles, he began to learn under his father's wing, gaining skills and tips n tricks as he went. He even learned to weave under the seamstress' careful eye.

He's heard the story of how his father romanced his mother with beautiful gifts and handmade ribbons, showering her in all that she deserved and more. He's a bit of a romantic, dreaming of wooing some pretty dragon one day with handwoven treasures, and the thought of someone he loves draped in things that he created makes him blush in delight. He daydreams with what the pattern could look like and wonders if he should get a headstart but thinks that he might wait to meet them before doing so. It'd be best to know what colors he should be trying to match with, after all.

That isn't to say he learned nothing from his mother. He knows the most basic of dances, enough to waltz and to twirl a partner. He's witty, his mother an eloquent speaker, and he knows how to treat a lady right.

Does your lair need a daydreaming tailor? He's a little idealistic, and he doesn't fight very well. His hands have to be in good shape to thread needles and do delicate stitches, so he's never actually thrown a punch or clawed anyone. He's sweet and thoughtful, and every lair needs a tailor for patches or repairing broken seams. Maybe he has a place in your lair.
