Baul was there for the beginning of the Purring Winds, part of the clan practically days after it was founded. In his first home, he was destined for exaltation, which is a great honor, true, but... well, Baul still wanted to experience so much things! He'd never had a hatchling of himself, he'd never left his home of the Shifting Expanse, he'd never even really connected ith other dragons! So, without much hesitation, Baul set off.

He ended up running into Sparga, Zyrephon, Yachini, and a young Flora, whom at the time were the only members of the Purring Winds, still searching for a proper way to set up the clan. Baul was tired and in need of company, and they needed more dragons to help create the Purring Winds proper. It was a mutually beneficial arrangement, really, when Baul joined them.

Baul found that it was enjoyable to him, helping build a clan, making connections with new dragons. It was, in a way, cathartic to him. He was under no pressure to go serve any diety if he didn't wish to do so, and he could help others.

Soon, another nocturne joined the clan, who would become his mate. Zeight and Baul practically fell in love at first sight. Both he and Zeight have a great love for hatchlings, and dreamed to have some of their own, even if they didn't stay with them. He doesn't mind babysitting for other clan members either.

As the clan grew, and the final arrangements for the giant floating structure that is now the clan's territory were finalized, Baul decided to open a shop with all sorts of trinkets for letters, travels, and other souvenirs. It's also connected to Zeight's post office. Since Zeight travels so much (being the clan's messenger), he usually runs both by himself, but it's always a delight when the both of them are in the shop. Their love for each other is so clear, it's almost embarrassing to watch.

He needed to sit down, or else he would have fell, right here and there.
He was starting to feel lightheaded, but his body, on the opposite, was feeling heavy.
His heart was beating so fast in his chest, that it was almost hard for him to hear his own words, as he stared right into his mate's eyes.
He couldn't believe what he just heard.

"E-eggs?" he only managed to stutter, before grasping at a rock behind him, slumping down.
Zeight simply nodded slightly, as if it wasn't that much of a deal with her.
"Yes, two of them actually, they are all settled up in the nest, Sparga is looking over them since I came here to tell you, even her cats seem to like them" she explained, giggling slightly at the thought of those furry animals rubbing their faces and purring all over the eggs.

Baul held his breath and rubbed his hands over his face.
Hatchlings.
They were going to have hatchlings.
That must have been the best day of his life.

He loved hatchlings, since he was a young nocturne Baul dreamed about the day he could have some little ones of his own.
He dreamed about holding them in his arms,
kissing their tiny warm noses, tickling chubby bellies, and staring back at two big eyes full of joy.
He dreamed about hearing them calling him "Dad!" as they waddled to him on their stubby little legs.

And now, everything was real.
Everything he ever dreamed about was going to happen sooner that he was even ready to realize.

"Oh Windsinger, I can't believe it" he only managed to mutter before big fat tears of joy started to roll out of his eyes.
This was real. This was too real.
It felt beautifully scary, amazing and terrifying at the same time.

"Baul! Come on, stop crying you big softie!" Zeight laughed, hugging her mate tightly, trying to comfort him.
"Bring me to them" Baul asked, sniffing, but with a smile on his face "I want them to see their dad".
His mate caressed his face and nodded, smiling back to him.
"You'll be an amazing dad".
