Centuries ago, a young snapper wandered the world with her mate, a fae known as Eladrin. The two eventually traveled to the Viridian Labyrinth, where they stumbled upon an odd willow sapling surrounded by ruins believed to be from the Second Age. Knowing that they had stumbled across one of the Behemoth's seeds, the pair opted to settle beneath its boughs and among the ruins. When a plague threatened the glade, Somnithra performed a sacred ritual to bind her soul to the tree. She views the conditional immortality granted by the ritual as both a blessing and a curse; blessed to see many live, cursed to see many die.

As more dragons began to chance upon the ruins, Somnithra slowly built a reputation. Many returned to their home clans with tales of a skilled healer in the jungle, able to cure even the most virulent plagues. Others spoke of a gentle giant in the woods, who came upon them as they were just about to succumb to the venom borne by the jungle's fauna, offering refuge or succor. Eventually, dragons began to purposefully seek her out. It wasn't long before she had a proper clan of her own and, upon forming a druidic circle devoted to caring for the Tree of Names, she was named Archdruid of Calyxvel. She has proven to be a patient and wise leader, if a bit stubborn or, at times, absentminded.

Today, Somnithra can usually be found training acolytes, meditating, or maintaining her personal herb garden. As a new member of the Compact of the Pillar's ruling council, her duties often take her away from Calyxvel. Assuming she's in southern Sornieth, she uses these trips as an excuse to journey to a scorched forest in the Ashfall Waste and commune with her consort. She hopes to someday find a means to free him, though dreads the possibility of losing him again.

In her draconic form, Somnithra is unable to fly, like many snappers. Her thick scales and powerful build cause her to resemble a large sauropod, not unlike an ankylosaur. In place of wings grow two cherry blossom-like trees that swoop backwards similar to her horns.

In her humanoid form, she has a similarly bulky body type. Her face is wrinkled and her back is slightly crooked. She dresses in simple leathers and wears a brownish-red poncho or cloak. She also displays large hoop earrings, dried flowers and herbs, and a straw hat.
