Being born during the Riot of Rot, perhaps Sorrow was cursed from the start. When she was a hatchling, adults cooed over how pretty she was, told her to take care of her fur, forbid her from actives that could ruin her beauty. Of course she grew to hate it. Her skin became uncomfortable, her fur slowed her movements, and her muscles burned. It was a cage, and something she had to change. So once she was old enough, she ran away. Eventually she got tired.

There was a delivery woman, Vess, who told Sorrow about a clan in the Shifting Expanse, always willing to put a roof over someone's head. Now finding the strength to travel, Sorrow set out for the last time.

Vess was right. there was a place that could be a home. The clan was larger than her her birth family, and busier to boot. She quickly was grabbed up by Kaleidoscope and began training to be a chemist. While going through some old books, Sorrow found a partially complicated recipe that could change her. Change her into some that wasn't a fluffy cute Tundra.

After years of trial and error, it finally worked. The mirror didn't show someone soft and gentle, but instead slick and scaly. Finally happy with her body, Sorrow now still brews potions and beginning a romance with Despair.
