Being the smallest in a world where everything and everyone around you is so big is never easy.

Being the smallest in a world where everything and everyone around you is so big and you are dreaming about becoming a coliseum fighter is even less easy.

Skoll knows this extremely well, considering how he had always had to live with the "runt of the nest" label stuck on him since the first day he was born, somewhere in the Shifting Expanse before moving to the Sunbeam Ruins.

Looking at him now, one could hardly tell that he used to be so tiny that he could be easily kept in a bag without anyone noticing. His siblings seemed huge in comparison to him: their round, chubby bellies and flappy wings against his scrawny body that made him look like his parents were purposely starving him.

He might have been a small guy, sure, but his character made up for that.
Even though he was half the size of the other hatchlings, Skoll never lost the opportunity to prove that he was indeed pretty healthy, besides the fact that one could easily see his bones through his skin.

He would screech and yelp and throw himself at his siblings during playfights, flapping his way too small wings, trying to look intimidating, but only ending up seeming ridiculously adorable.
Yet his clan was pretty happy on how he was catching up with the others so quickly, even if he had been off to a rough start.

No matter how big the other dragon was, Skoll feared no one, and was always up for a fight, soon learning that while he really couldn't expect strength to be his strongest point, he could easily win over his contender by using his mind and quickness.

Being so small gave him an unthinkable advantage on his opponent: he was far more agile than most of them, and could easily move faster and in a way bigger dragons couldn't, thus letting him dominate in a fight, often being able to beat dragons as big as a young imperial.

And the more he grew, the greater his passion for fights became.
He liked feeling the breeze on his body as he flew from his opponent's way and there was nothing that he loved more than feeling the rush of adrenaline every time he was on the battlefield.

And the day he found out that there were dragons whose main role was fighting beasts was the day which he found the answer to all his questions.

He was roaming around a field, a little far from his clan lair, scavenging for trinkets and goodies when he saw a group of dragons doing some kind of exercise, hitting a pole where a beastclan dummy was tied to.

Curios as he was, he immediately run over to them asking what they were doing, and they stopped, surprised by the fledgling's excitement and simply explained that they were coliseum fighters in training, and that their job was to fight off beasts and weird creatures alike.

Skoll could hardly keep himself from screeching in delight when he heard such things, and promptly asked them to let him try, because he wanted to be a coliseum fighter too, just like them.

They had stared at him and at one another, before bursting out in laughter, making the young dragon drop his confident smile.
"You're too small!" they told him. "You can't do that!".

Sitting on an old tube in the Golem Workshop, Skoll almost laughed to himself thinking about that particular episode of his life, and how ironic the fact that he's not only an actual Coliseum fighter now, but the best one in his clan too, is.

After what those dragons told him, instead of dropping his dream he decided that he wanted to try to achieve it even harder, and left his home clan, moving from flight to flight, fighting shade-touched beasts and becoming stronger by days.

His body got bigger, his wings stronger and his quickness got even better.
In his current clan, where he settled after ending up there severely wounded for having tried to fight off a group of Featherback Boars on his own, he met his coliseum companions: the Wildclaw Valencia, and Rendall the Tundra.

Together, the three of them formed a powerful team that has been able to throw down so many enemies that Skoll had lost count at this point.

"Hey Skoll, taking some time off, huh? Did the fight tire you that much? I thought you were the strongest of our team," Valencia teases him, leaning on some weird levers.
He looks at her and a smirk appears on his face.
"Drop it, Valencia, you know so well that I could have beaten you even as an hatchling!" he replies, half giggling.

"Well then, get up, we're off to find the next Shade-touched beast" she says, turning her back to him.
Rendell instead, turns his head over Skoll
"You coming?" he asks, in a soft tone of voice.
"Yeah, sure!" answers Skoll, jumping down from his seat and trotting over to his friends.
He'll always be ready to fight.
