Dana the Nanny
I. Once a fierce, feared pirate, Dana gave up that life to join the Empire. But how could that have happened? She was a member of a pirate crew that rivaled the size of even the Siren's Song, one that even Empress Morrigan feared: the White Shark Corsairs. She herself had injured the former empress in battle, nearly killing her. Originally hatched in the Stormfury clan, she decided to leave in order to join the pirates, as she wanted to be part of something bigger than she.II. When Dana was young, she met the dragon Therris. He was a loyal member of the empire, and the two met at a port. He recognized her immediately, and was almost tempted to chase her away. The two got into a fight, which Dana ended up winning. After this fight, they argued off and on about whether or not it was right for Dana to have attacked Morrigan. Despite her disagreeing with him, she couldn't help but wonder if what she had done was right. She and Therris had been fighting for over a year at this point. Eventually, they came to a truce. Therris could see she was a strong, noble dragoness who held her convictions close. The two ended up getting too close, and had a clutch of hatchlings. This egg soon hatched, and shortly after, Therris decided he no longer loved Dana. He left her and their clutch, and left the empire as well. Without a support system, two of Dana's hatchlings died. The only surviving one—Rivule—was close to it. Deciding to head to the Empire, she begged Aislinn to let her stay. With hatchlings of her own, Aislinn allowed Dana to be part of the empire under careful supervision, despite the protests of the other advisors. III. Dana and Rivule grew a strained relationship, especially as Rivule grew closer to Glacis. Dana felt lost inside the empire, unsure of what her place was. She soon found comfort in Ren, the lead scribe of the Empire. He comforted her, assuring her that Rivule was happy now and that's what mattered. Agreeing, Dana and Ren grew close together, especially after Ren challenged Abbas to a duel to protect her. Although her lost, she could see that he truly cared for her. Ren and Dana soon got married, and eventually had two clutches of eggs together. These were Brenden and Karthus, who they're very proud of. Although Ren and Dana both try to have a relationship with Rivule, it's very strained. |
