» Lotus was destined for life in the water. Long ago, he walked alongside the rivers and lakes he so loves, but by some magic or trick, he now lives in them-- regardless of the cause for his change, he's moved beyond existing on land. A creature of beautiful form and function, he boasts a graceful, incredibly strong tail perfectly suited to swimming; and thus prefers to engage with the outside world from bodies of fresh water. Due to his limitations, he relies on his friend (and sometimes lover) Sonnet to handle matters too far from the water for Lotus to deal with personally. The two trust each other deeply.

» His shimmering, pearly skin and gorgeous transparent fins make him the object of a great deal of admiration and affection. Any pond or lake he occupies soon begins to glitter with the gifts and treasure his awestruck admirers offer him. The attention has made him a little vain, but his naturally sugary disposition makes everyone willing to overlook this flaw. Lotus loves company, and frequently calls out to anyone who passes his habitat to come and chat. Those who spare some time for him are sometimes rewarded with one of the treasures he collects, or in the case of people he really likes, a kiss.

» Since the move to the Moonhaven Citadel, he has had to adjust to cooler waters. There was concern over whether or not the extreme change in temperature would kill him, but he seems to have adapted well enough. Lotus now occupies a cold, clean pool built into one of the courtyards just outside the citadel itself. The location is one he enjoys very much; the pool is decorated with gorgeous mosaics and bathed in moonlight for the better part of the evening. Every so often, he is disturbed by Cyanotic, who sometimes comes to stare into the water for hours at a time, unwittingly dripping the seawater that issues from her eyes and mouth into the otherwise fresh pool.
