Heartless was an understatement. Heartless wouldn't even begin to describe this dragon's personality. No dragon on the planet could be as cruel, bloodthirsty, and sadistic as him. He was colder than the coldest ice. His soul was non-existent. His heart was caked under miles and miles of unbreakable ice, metaphorically. All that stand in his way, are frozen to the soul. All that stand in his way never come back to tell the tale. He is, the most feared dragon in all of Sornieth.

Blizzard is this dragon's name. His egg was part of a twin; he was to have a sibling just like him hatch. However, something went wrong. His unborn sibling was too weak to develop their powers of ice, and Blizzard absorbed both his sibling and what powers they had. Blizzard's power over ice and snow was more powerful than any hatchling born in the Southern Icefield. The mother, despite being distraught about losing a hatchling in the largest egg to have been birthed in eons, decided to keep the dragonling and do her best to raise him to be a powerful warrior, knowing his frigid powers would protect them all.

As Blizzard grew, the mother noticed more and more things going wrong with him. He'd catch his prey and, instead of eating it, would bite and watch as the prey slowly became cloaked in ice, down to the bone. Once the victim was completely frozen, the dragonling would shatter the being into thousands of pieces, giggling sadistically at his newfound powers of murder. She knew she couldn't keep him. He'd kill everyone in the clan.

One night, as he slept, she took to the frigid skies to rid the lands of this accursed dragonling once and for all. The Ashfall Wastes would do just fine. Her talons ached with the frigid cold, and her paws were slowly being covered with crystals of ice that spiked painfully out from her skin. Despite being an ice dragon, her son's freezing cold was too much.

If he were to grow and realize his power, all of dragonkind would be in danger.

However, the dragonling awoke when feeling the extreme heat blast across his scales of ice. Horrified, the mother tossed the dragonling from her talons, and turned to fly away as fast as she could. However, Blizzard was not to allow himself to perish like this. Wings of ice spread, and carried the livid dragon back to the Southern Icefield, where he was to get his revenge on his mother for trying to kill him.

Years passed. He grew older. His murderous intent grew stronger. More and more victims fell to his talons. Dragons all along the Icefield knew of his name. They knew of his intentions. They had to keep him at bay. He had to be locked up.

After a few years of being able to dodge the guards that tried to capture him, he was finally captured. His murderous crusade was finally over. For now. Because of how dangerous he was, he was kept in the Fortress of Ends, in the Icewarden's most secure prison, bound by heavy iron shackles. Eventually, those shackles bound to his wrists, ankles, neck, and wings, froze to his body and are now a part of him for all eternity.

After an eternity of living as a prisoner under the Icewarden, Blizzard was finally able to escape. After continuously gnawing and blowing frigid cold on the shackles that bound him, they snapped and he bolted. He bolted to the Ends, and blended in with the harsh snows that fell upon the area. He was gone. He escaped.

The guards of the Icewarden's prison sent a message to all of Sornieth. An incredibly strong, murderous dragon was on the loose. Look for anything that resembled a frozen skeleton of a Guardian, wrapped in chains with snow pouring from the eyes. Do not get too close, or you will be one of the shattered remains we've found along the Icefield, or worse - one of his own personal ice statues to gawk at. If this dragon is found, contact your Deity immediately. We must subdue this dragon. He is too dangerous to allow free.

Ever since he was a dragonling, Blizzard has had a severe and bitter hatred towards the dragons of the Ashfall Wastes ever since he was nearly thrown into a pit of lava by his own mother. Anything that provided heat, he wanted to snuff out. As as newly escaped felon, he took to the most secluded parts of the Fortress of Ends, scrolls in arms, and decided to study and read on other dragons and their weakness to take advantage. Soon, he learned about the dragons of fire, and their Deity. The Flamecaller. She didn't look all that threatening. He could take her out.

He was determined to freeze over the Ashfall Wastes, and have the Flamecaller as a prize in his newly crafted castle of ice. She would make a nice addition to the other statues he accumulated - a statement to all of dragonkind that not even the Flamecaller would melt his frigid powers. A statement that he could rule over the world. Or, better yet, the entire world of Sornieth will be his entire kingdom of snow and ice.

However, one day, a small group of dragons from the Flame World caught his cold, dead eyes. One really stuck out to him. The one with fire streaming from his eyes. Ah...so he was born with the power of fire flowing through his veins. This sure was going to be fun. They all looked weak. They all were small. A flick of his talon and they would freeze over. Killing them all right away wasn't going to be fun, no no. Why not have some new toys to play with?

Blizzard's form trudged through the snow, eyeballing just which dragon of the group he was going to keep alive and torment for the rest of his days. But, his eyes settled back on the main Pearlcatcher with his eyes of flame. Bingo.

A sudden shriek let out through the area, and as the dragons turned around, they saw one of their friends, one that was falling behind the group, had been completely frozen solid. Confused, the dragons circled their frozen friend. How did this happen? Tundras were supposed to be resistant to the cold. But soon, talonsteps made the ground tremble. The remaining five dragons, confused, looked around frantically for the source. And there, they saw him.

Blizzard was nothing more than a shadow with glowing eyes in the harsh snowstorm, a wicked grin spreading on his scales of ice. He said no words, but the dragons knew that he was dangerous. One drew a weapon, the others built up firepower. But, it was all in vain. All Blizzard did was stretch a talon towards them, and jab them with it. They'd scream for only a second, before they were completely frozen to the soul. One by one, they fell, and one by one, their shattered remains got buried. Only one was left.

He decided this Pearlcatcher with the flaming eyes was to be spared, but traumatized. Spared, yet scarred for the rest of his days. "Your friends are all dead." He cooed in a voice that rumbled the ground. He stepped closer to the shaken dragon, allowing his powerful frostscales to drain the color and bring ice to the fire dragon's scales. "You are the last one alive. Go tell your friends at home my name. Blizzard. Blizzard is alive and coming for you all."

After his successful genocide, Blizzard had went to return home to his new palace of ice he had created in the deepest reaches of the Icefields where no dragon that wasn't the Icewarden himself could get to without the risk of freezing to death. But yet, he only lay dormant in his frozen palace walls for a few days before setting off in search of new victims to add to his collection. Either as prisoners he could treat as toys, or new statues to place around his abode to display as trophies. Any would do for him.

And he got lucky. There was a young Pearlcatcher that had strayed too far away from her home in the Ashfall wastes, and Blizzard wasted no time in capturing the poor dragon, wrapping her in heavy, bone-chilling chains, and locking her away within his prison that was his palace. Flare lost everything. She lost her life. Her fire. Her will to fight to survive. She'd been locked away in that horrible prison for what felt like forever. She didn't know how long. Days? Months? A year or two? It was impossible to tell time when there wasn't a sun to rise or set outside of your prison window. Along with this, there was this horrid little clock that sat on an icy shelf, ticking...giggling. Watching her slowly wither away from the cold that sapped away her fire. It was driving her mad; it constantly giggled about how soon, her time would be up. Soon, she'd be nothing but a distant memory.

But it didn't stop with her. Soon enough, another prisoner was brought in by the horrible talons of Blizzard, this one being a Banescale of all creatures. A dragon Blizzard had never seen before, but was brimming with pure fire energy. His eyes were ablaze with power fire energy...but none of this energy was able to help him escape from his horrible icy chains and cell he now had to call home. It didn't take long for Emal's color to drain and for ice to grow on his scales like a skeleton. It was eerie. Creepy.

Days later, another one of these Banescales was brought in adorned with heavy, icy shackles. This one already looked sickly and drained of his fire enough save for his eyes, but Myrrh's fire was practically evaporating out of his body from how cold he was. Flare couldn't do anything but watch these new dragons become playthings for that horrible Guardian that took a disturbing amount of joy in watching these dragons of flame suffer.

Just when she had thought he was done, another Pearlcatcher was brought in. All Tigerseye had were shackles on her wings, as Blizzard deemed she wasn't strong enough to run or break them off due to the lack of strong fire in her eyes like his previous two captures. She'd be just like Flare. But the last dragon he found....

This Banescale was like none other. Freshly reborn and brimming with powerful fire energies, Blizzard had tried to subdue her as best as he could. Thankfully he was able to do so while she was still in a daze from her revival, and quickly was he able to wrap her up in heavy shackles to keep her from coming to life fully once again. And, for added measure, he was able to find and become the new master to Brumal, an old and withered Gaoler that was to act as a Sentry to keep watch on the prisoners he had. But not everything went according to his plan.

There was a terrible noise, and before Brumal could act, Incandescence was able to use her newly revived powers of flame to somewhat melt her shackles and her prison walls and escape. Full of energy from her magmatic rebirth, Incandescence was able to sprint away from the icy prison without much issue, and now with the added thrill of having the icy Guardian and his newly gained Sentry to chase after her to get her back under his control. Blizzard was NOT going to allow this prized prisoner of his get away, and certainly not without giving her a proper punishment once she was back in his clutches. She was going to be his again if it was the last thing he did. But knowing these new dragons of fire were coming about...he could have so many more toys to play with. Statues to gawk at. Prisoners to make suffer...These dragons of flame would soon be his.
