JASPER

Born to be an artist, Jasper has been all over Sornieth and has lived to tale his tales. Born an orphan in Ice, he spent most of his hatchling days in Shadow before moving on. Jasper was never a gifted magician, and he made up for it by becoming very, very good at sleight-of-hand magic tricks. He's an absolute hit at parties. Aside from his magic tricks, Jasper is a fair hand at painting, and he loves watercolours in particular. His room is full of detailed landscapes depicting the various places he's lived in all over Sornieth.

Jasper's art is slightly hampered by the fact that he's colourblind, but he doesn't really mind. He says that his colourblindness is his trademark, in a way. He can always paint in a way that few other dragons can. Though he can't see all of the shades perfectly, Jasper loves colour. His room is one of the most colourful at Home, and he takes tremendous pride in his very colourful wings. Typically the 'tortured artist' type, Jasper can tend to be a little gloomy and testy, and he can get himself into art-block filled ruts where he rarely smiles for days. However, he's also prone to soaring highs whenever his painting is going well. This means he can be a little unpredictable, some days difficult to get along with and other days everyone's best friend. Jasper doesn't really mind - he thinks he just feels emotions very intensely, and he thinks it only adds to the creative process.

The name Jasper is believed to be of Persian origin, and might mean 'treasurer.'
