Biography
They say we are what we are
"Come on, Hika! We'll miss the show!"
But we don't have to be
He trudged up the icy cliff, feeling the bite of the wind on his feathers. Ikarus flapped through the sky not too far ahead, reveling in the freezing air. She was made for this weather. Him? Not so much.
I'm bad behavior but I do it in the best way
Hika smiled at the large-winged tundra. A party celebrating the centennial meteor shower was waiting at the top of this cliff. Ika had been excited for it for weeks, flipping in circles in the sky. He was glad she'd asked him to be her accompaniment, despite the cold.
I'll be the watcher of the eternal flame
Their relationship still felt new, as fresh as the snow fallen this morning in the blizzard that he'd expected would ruin the celebration. To Ika's delight, though, the other dragons were still intent on hosting the event of a century.
I'll be the guard dog of all your favorite dreams
He looked up at Ika again, watching her fly higher and higher. Too high. She'd get caught in the stronger winds of the sky above if she wasn't careful...

I am the sand in the bottom half of the hourglass
Hika flew through the storm, icy rain pelting his feathers. The blizzard had blown back in in full force, but Ika was still out here. She had to be. He couldn't entertain the possibility she wasn't.
I try to picture me without you but I can't
His wings grew heavy. Slowly, he stopped being frozen to the bone and started feeling warm, too warm. He landed, stumbling a bit on numb limbs. Sluggishly, he wondered if this had been a mistake. Ika could survive the icy conditions, but could he? Spots faded through his vision, and the sky above took over the world in a sheet of dark, stormy gray.
⊱ ──────────── { } ──────────── ⊰
Sometimes the only pay off for having any faith
He shivered, feeling heavy and cold. Voices he couldn't quite make out hummed in the air around him, sounding worried. He felt something very warm near him, almost painfully warm.
Is when it's tested again and again every day
His eyes opened slowly, not quite comprehending the scene around him. Several very, very large dragons surrounded him, going about various tasks. A massive coatl stood nearby, with flaming eyes and a burning halo of fire. This was the source of the heat.
I'm still comparing your past to my future
He didn't quite remember how he got here. There was someone he was supposed to find... Cold. He was tired. He would not find this dragon now, because now he would rest.
It might be your wound but they're my sutures
⊱ ──────────── { } ──────────── ⊰
'Cause we could be immortals, immortals
When they asked his name, he had no answer for them. They told him that wasn't uncommon. They gave him a room, food, kindness. Somehow, it all felt familiar to him, as though the dance of finding a new home was one he'd danced before.
Just not for long, for long
He grew to like a tundra named Tiea. She was kind, and always smelled of roses, and shared his positive disposition towards painting, and oh, how he wished she'd feel the same way. But he hadn't even a name yet, he was so young in this place.
And live with me forever now
A name. Young, fresh, like the dew on the roses in Tiea's garden. Lovely, like the petals she put in her tea. JunaAmo, young love. This was who he would be.
