On a lost and lonely isle, the gilded shipwrecks of a thousand battles, of countless watery years, have come to rest. Waves lap over centuries of wealth, half submerged in the sand. Other plundered chests, in various states of decay, spill their contents across the coral reefs and, to deeper depths still, where the fishes with strange names and stranger forms lurk: dark, alone, and ominous.
The isle, uninhabited, guards its wealth from no one. But strange new creatures, perhaps even gods, have arisen from the soul of these barnacled coins (or perhaps drawn to them, out of those same deep waters...). They take shape amid the ruins of man's folly -- invisible to the eye, you can sometimes catch their fleeting form in the reflection of a gilded surface. Some may even see their gaze returned...
