never being one to meet expectations, once she hit rock bottom she began to dig. her claws broke, her paws bled, her scales stained and her body starved and thirsted. and, when the last of the dirt caved away, and the sunlight lent her hollow eyes a new glow -

who's the waste now?
stern and severe. always tense. only remembers to smile rarely, usually when mavis surprises a laugh out of her. eats dirt to establish dominance.

uses him as an arm rest. gives him the most loathesome of expressions when his jokes don't land. sits beside him without touching or looking at him frequently. would protect him with her life. they're best friends.

sakai will never turn away a wandering soul, but some questions shouldn't be asked for the risk of them being answered. perhaps if she gives rue the cold shoulder long enough, the obnoxious skydancer will either stop asking or go home.
