"The Stars led me here...So here I shall stay."

Athena was born with slick metallic hued skin, her feathers taking on a shiny hue as she grew into her adult plumage. None of her nest-mates had the same traits, and as such, she was often outcast and teased. This caused her to become reclusive and withdrawn. She began to take an interest into augury, taking to the skill with a talent not many had seen.....but her original clan had no use for this skill. They lived well, and issues very rarely popped up. As such, she was teased even further, for taking an interest in something that was ultimately useless to their clan.

In the end, it was a culmination of her strange traits and her interests that she was ultimately forced to leave that clan.

It wasn't long after she'd left her birth clan that she stumbled into a Patrol from Adelaide's clan, quite litterally. Oddly enough, they did not seem to deem her as a threat, regardless of how strange she looked. In fact, one of the dragons that had made up the Patrol was a Guardian by the name of Agir, who had scales that shone in a multitude of colors traced by a strange golden crackle looking coloration. When she looked closer at the others, they too had something that was quite different about them, be it a deformity or even just strangely colored scales and feathers.

Agir explained that their clan was one of a haven, a place where dragons could come and go as they pleased, without the fear of discrimination. Regardless of where they came from previously, what they'd been run off for, or even left on their own, they were welcome in the glade that Adelaide had made their home. They were allowed, even if they hadn't been outcast. All were welcome as long as they did not discriminate against others.

Agir took Athena back to the glade, where she was passed off to a glittering male Tundra named Flynn. It looked as if his fluff and scales had a very similar mutation to her own, but on a more extreme level. Every movement he made, his scales shimmered and sparkled, but it didn't seem to bother him. He showed her around the Glade, and then introduced her to the clan matriarch, a lovely female Tundra named Adelaide.

Immediately, Adelaide was absolutely smitten with the shimmer on Athena's scales and feathers. The slick metalic hue that Athena had come to despise, Adelaide loved and cooed over. Adelaide explained that she had left her old clan herself, with an idea in her head to create a haven for those who the rest of society deemed different. Because she herself had a disability; she was blind in one of her eyes. Instead of waiting to be seen as a waste of space, she'd left and created her haven. A haven that she was more than willing to share with all who needed it.

But Athena didn't want to be useless. She wanted to do something, even if she decided to stay here. It would be useless if she couldn't at the very least help. When she showed off her augury skills, expecting to be refuted and told that they weren't needed, Adelaide instead directed her towards a small grove that housed the small Pearlcatcher, Kiuminoawa. Adelaide explained that Kiuminoawa was their healer, and the next grove over was home to Amaterasu and her mate, who could use a dragon that could read the stars and bones in their search for dragons with what they had decided to be elemental energies in their wings. There was also the dragons on the other side of the Haven, who were devoted to the stars and could use her knowledge on them. Athena was welcome, if not even needed, by the dragons around her.

She settled down in the clan, though she still prefered to keep her distance somewhat.
