Biography
This is a Startail born dragon
This dragon calls Star's Rest their home
History
When the fleeing dragons from Elegant Opals escaped into a small tunnel dug beneath what would eventually become Star’s Rest, they found a single egg, long abandoned by whatever had laid it. Touching it, they had felt an odd warmth and a feeling of peace washed over them and lingered as long as they continued to hold this egg. They knew immediately they had to give whatever was in this egg the best chance it could have to hatch. Yet, weeks went by, and then months and this egg never hatched. It was impossibility that there was any life remaining in this egg yet these dragons were compelled to continue to try. And then one night, under the darkness of a new moon, it happened.
When Luna was born, an odd starry light filled the room. Strange, beautiful, unlike anything they had seen before, the dragons of Startail found themselves in awe. They had no explanation for this. Yet they could not question this - It had felt only right - as if this was how it was meant to be. And yet, as they watched, these stars began to fix themselves to this hatchling’s modestly patterned scales. What had originally been simply a standard rippled pattern, now held a gorgeous arrangement of stars, slowly dancing and shining proudly against her midnight darkened coat. On the day that Luna hit the age of maturity, her pattern changed again. This time, her wings. Beautiful as they had already been, their pattern had changed from that of a bee’s to now match the pattern on her body. Although, this change had been far less dramatic, it was still a spectacle to behold. |

Parents
“They were the first dragons to ever treat me right. The first dragons who had accepted me with open arms. To them, it did not matter what I had done. It did not matter what I could do. They would accept me regardless. I could not understand. I was...angry...at first. Surely, they had planned some sort of scheme when I had my guard down. But it had never happened. When they had their first clutch, they had invited me over - to see their eggs. There were four. Beautiful. They invited me over once more when they hatched - when all of them except your egg hatched. Three healthy and happy Mirror hatchlings. Shortly after that they stopped associating with me. I took a trip to see them but they were nowhere to be found. I found your egg, abandoned. I waited hopelessly for weeks but they would never be seen again. I cannot tell you what happened to them for I do not know. But I do know that they would never abandon your egg. Yours was special, they said.” The lair fell silent. The hardened pearlcatcher would speak no more but Luna could see the pain in her eyes.
“What were their names?” she asked. But Banshee could not answer, for she did not know.
