Biography

Ceto ("sea monster") is the daughter of Gaia and Pontus, and she bore Phorcys:
the Gorgons (Euryale, Stheno, and Medusa),
the Graeae (Deino, Enyo, and Pemphredo, all of which shared one eye and one tooth between the group),
Echidna (the mother of many classic monsters),
possibly the Hesperides (nymphs of the evening),
Thoosa (mother of Polyphemus),
and Ladon (the dragon which guarded the golden apples in the garden of Hesperides-- the very same that Hercules killed for his quest in the twelve labors he served all because Hera is the worst).
