My brother, he lives here in this clan with me. He has the same powers, and they've burned their way onto his skin, leaving smoldering embers of what once was his skin underneath the dark cloth he covers himself with. He's told me that even though we are far down the line, our powers are strong. I am from two lines, each one holding the ǵ̷̨͛l̶̝̀i̸͎̣͘͠t̶̮̤̄c̵̳͑͋h̷̩̚e̷̼̗͑̀d̴̳̭͐ power. With both of these lines running through my blood, my powers are stronger, more... adaptive. My brother has been teaching me how to use them, and maybe some day, I can reverse the damages done to this... wretched world." |

Though he is still young, Shroud possesses a powerful ability to bend and warp the code around him, amplified by his lineage of the gatekeeper line. Coming from two different lines with a similar, or same power, his own were strengthened. Able to show the binary behind the world around him, Shroud's eyes can see in both the material plane, and the code behind it. By shifting the inner workings of the area around him, Shroud can create black voids in the world that show a gateway of static color, much like the static on an old analog television.
While others may just see the static, Shroud can see the individual binary code in that tear, and can use it to shape objects of his desire. He uses his familiar's excellent vision to see into these void tears to select certain codes to manipulate, and has even messed with his own coding on occasion. He is distantly related to GlitchHop, who he sees as a brother. He has tried before to heal the burnt and ruined skin from Glitch's failed attempt to use his power, however has not been successful. GlitchHop taught him how to use his power, and has warned of the dangers about using too much, too quickly. Shroud is always aware of how much of his power he is using at once because of this, as he doesn't want to have a similar accident as his brother did. Ultimately, Shroud's goal is to fix the wrongs in the world, and to stop any more people from being harmed by the various deity's meddling. He does not swear alliance to any one flight, and is closer to being allied with the Courier dragons than a single flight. Out of all the deities, Shroud has a closer kinship to Shadowbinder, if only because of his birth element. Though he has a mature personality for his age, Shroud does have a mischievous side, and when it shows through, he can pull many unfair pranks by using his power. Creating traps that lead to rooms of glitched code are some of his favorites, though he has also caused some more permanent damages with these traps. |
