Vrel

A Half-Fallen fighter who is more Fallen than she is Awoken, Vrel is extremely intelligent and crafty, able to trick her foes in a wide range of ways. She is well versed in illusions and other ways of trickery, though one of her favorite tricks is disguising various items and rigging them to explode. She is somewhat of a rival to the Scorn Baron known as Araskes the Trickster and is actually considered to be more skillful than her, especially since she is also skilled in direct combat whereas the Trickster is not. Vrel's explosive and rather unpredictable tendencies landed her in the Prison of Elders, where she was abused behind the Wardens' backs despite being a very well-behaved and cooperative prisoner. With the help and cover of her next door cellmate, Axel, she escaped and led the Wardens on a wild and fiery chase, and while she caused them a great deal of trouble, Vrel also took her newfound freedom as a chance to sabotage the Scorn, even daring to prank their leader directly. The Wardens tracked her down, sick and injured, in a sanctuary village some time later, where they discovered that Vrel isn't all bad, just abused and misunderstood. With Variks's permission, Elder Warden Navras and Pandora watched over Vrel while she healed and while they brought her back to the Prison, they allowed her more and more freedom within its walls, also keeping watch to make sure she was never abused again. The most amusing thing about her relationship with her mate, Shadow, is that she caught his attention by crafting a fake Black Bayard that exploded in his face.
