Zarkoth is an arcane dragon who spent his younger years happily with his mate at the time, a female ridgeback from the scarred wastelands. While there years together were happy, the pair constantly at each others side, devoted entirely to each other, his mate seemed to grow sick with each passing day. It took years for the illness to truly set in and when it did she was unable to move from their nest, the once mighty dragon reduced to a pitiful pile of scales who could barely feed herself. Knowing his mate would die Zarkoth began researching a dangerous and dark kind of magic, necromancy, in hopes of saving his mate, or at the very least bringing her back when she passed. When the other dragons in their clan caught wind of what he was practicing they banished the pair from the territory of the Arcanist, not long after Zarkoth's mate passed. When she was gone Zarkoth didn't dare try resurrecting her, not yet, though he took to her the Scarring Wastelands, back to her home. There she rests, hidden away in a cave, guarded by his familair while he studies, trying to perfect his craft to bring her back from the dead.
