he lost his pearl for a period of time. He wandered, searching for his memories while being shunned by other dragons, afraid of the curse of a lost pearl.
With some help from the moonlight, he found his pearl. It had been sunk in a lake, under three feet of solid ice, in a place and time where frozen lakes aren't all that common. After maybe-nearly freezing to death retrieving his pearl, he arrived in a lake near the Clan.
He appeared on a night of a full moon and was catatonic until morning, by which time he'd been brought to the Healers by Salicin, who'd been on a gathering trip when he found Jack. Since then, Jack has been a part of the Clan, his mysterious origins helping him fit right in.
Since Bunny has been around, Jack's been more outgoing and has been recalling more memories. The recovered memories no longer have any emotional weight, so Jack's been... mostly content with leaving Earth behind indefinitely. It helps that Dragon-land's been in need of some cheering, lately. The dynamic duo's been traveling Sornieth, using their Guardian powers to evade Dragon-god forces and help various Clans raise morale and believe in a better future.

author's note: i had one (1) week where i went pot-over-teakettle into the rise of the guardians fandom even tho i only watched the movie once in 2015 so i made two fandragons
