Biography

. . The Hoard Guard
He / Him
|
Kurjak is a very timid and gentle Imperial from the Crystalspine Reaches. He started out as a very small pup, but quickly grew to an outrageous size which he is always apologizing for. He and his best friend Iva guard the hoard in a great underground chamber of the Canyon.
Sometimes Kurjak comes outside to transport his clan members quickly to far away places. Since he is so big, he wears a long compartmentalized attachment like a train and can fly many dragons to their destination. But he prefers to stay underground where it's safe and dark.
The Central Hall
The Central hall is the main entrance of the Canyon and where most travelers spend their time. It is a massive hall that an Imperial could move around freely with plenty of room over his head.
- The Marketplace in the Canyon is one of the largest in the Abiding Boneyard. Dragons come from all around to sell and trade food, apparel, and other goods. The profits from the market help keep the Canyon a safe and thriving community.
The Sunlit Ravine
The Sunlit Ravine is a peaceful, seaside cavern that is lush from the freshwater running through it, and dappled in sunlight from the open ceilings. It is farthest away from the Blacklight District, and therefore the most quiet part of the Canyon, only the sounds of the sea crashing below the cliffs and the seabirds break the silence.
- The Library has a massive collection of books that are scavenged, donated, or left by those who pass through the Canyon on their travels. Valentine, the curator of the library, has studied magical techniques for replicating rare texts all his life so they can be distributed to other libraries around Sornieth. He has collected literature for many years and even has copies of the Arcanist's... unmentionable writings.
The Grotto
The Grotto is a small district with tight passages and an abundance of plant life from the spring water flowing through it. It is the youngest part of the Canyon according to the local archeologist.
- The Vivarium is a gorgeous cavern which holds a modest collection of familiars, each living in an environment that suits them. Here, Kit takes care of familiars until they find a dragon to bond with. (Beastclan and other intelligent familiars do not live in the Vivarium, but are residents or guests of the Canyon in the same way dragons are).
The Blacklight District
The Blacklight District is the largest part of the Canyon and is submerged in complete darkness, apart from the neon lights strung along the cavern walls. It is home to the majority of the dragons who live in the Canyon, and it a popular place for travelers to stay.
- The Blacklight Theater is the most popular venue in the Abiding Boneyard for rock and metal concerts. The cave is massive and the natural acoustics make for an unforgettable and deafening experience.
- The Tavern is open twenty-four hours a day, though it is most popular during the evening shows and open mic nights. Many dragons perform here in an effort to move up to the Blacklight Theater. Venom, Jasper, and Jet will often manage such performances, scouting for talent. Travelers may stay in the rooms above the tavern, though they aren't likely to get a good night's rest.
The Sanctuary Pool
The Sanctuary Pool is the deepest and darkest part of the Canyon, but it is lit up by hundreds of lanterns which make the caverns dazzling and vibrant. The Pool is one of many underground springs in the Canyon, but it is the only one that is not hidden. Deep passages lead out of the pool and into the Sea. Since it is the safest part of the canyon, Murdoc and Fedya care for hatchlings here, and those without family stay in the comfort of the caverns.
