Somnes

Dragons could always feel when Somnes was there before they saw them. There would be a whisper in wind. An almost staticky quality to the air that makes you want to brush something off your arms. A quiet chill that forces your lungs constrict and your pulse to run rapid through your veins. The heavy heat of someone staring at your back. And then a voice. Like a windchime in the distance. Like rolling thunder overhead. "You called me?" There they stood atop the rock, their tail curled around their front paws. Light shined through their wings unnaturally, the tips of them fading off into smoky tendrils. If you blinked, they would dissapear for a second and fade entirely from existence. But in this moment, they were here. The setting sun hung behind them, burning and red. Although their gaze held no emotion, no judgement, there was a slight tilt to their head, a minute upturn to their smile. They knew why they were here, and so did you. For no one really called on Somnes, that didn't mean that Somnes didn't hear. They heard when a dragon's heart sizzled with rage, when their claws longed to squeeze and shred. They heard the cold thoughts that crept into a dragon's skull, a dark mass of fury and exhaustion that weighed down their bones. They heard a dragon's pulse ignite painfully, their claws clutching and clutching and clutching, trying to reach something they couldn't have. The deity's gray eyes locked with yours. Sunlight reflected off their horns, almost seeming to connect them in a halo of firey light. "Have you made up your mind?"

general lore and other tidbits
--- Somnes Is a corrupt deity that grants dark prayers. They were a dragon that was alive normally at one point, but then died in some tragic way I haven't come up with yet lmao

--- doesn't exist entirely on this physical plane. Their physical form gets fluid/glitchy when emotional. However they are mostly coporeal at all other times and and are indistinguishable from a normal dragon by physical apperance (usually). The only thing that sets them apart is their baleful aura.

--- Somnes still interacts with normal dragons even when they aren't fufilling a prayer, although they do move around a lot, as an unaging hatchling with a strange aura to them tends to get noticed after a while. They've been chased out of a lot of villages tbh.

--- Somnes tends to only hang out with dragons who are hatchlings, children, or in their teens. They're very untrusting of adults. Somnes's physical age is somewhere in the 9-12 range.

--- Somnes is very clingy towards dragons who show them kindness, even though they know the dragon will either 1) die or more likely 2)grow ill of Somnes's presence and cast them out
