Lucida

Lucida essentially raised herself in the darkness of the Shadowbinder's territory, becoming a respected adventurer who barely spoke actual words, instead preferring the guttural growls and snarls of a feral dragon. She's mellowed out over the years, but those who attempted to make her more civilized have been met with failure and extreme pain.

She was somewhat surprised when Gauss, whom she'd been informed was nearly her polar opposite, approached her timidly with a strange trinket that she couldn't even begin to guess the purpose of. She prodded it with a claw and asked him to explain. Immediately the younger Ridgeback lit up, launching into a rambling speech about how he'd found it and improved it, and it did all these things, and really it was quite fascinating because who could have possibly made it to begin with...

The longer he went on, the more visibly excited he became, until eventually he realized how much time had passed and apologized for talking so much.
"Is fine," Lucida told him, speaking for the first time in several days. "Was... good. Nice. Talk more next day, yes?"
Gauss beamed at her, and a beautiful relationship formed.

She still has no idea what that gadget he gave her does. She uses it as a bauble. It's pretty.


She does not understand her son Orion's interest in socializing with people. Where did he get that from? Certainly not her, and most likely not Gauss. She's supportive of him, but rarely goes to visit him when he's on a trip outside the Clans--because she's fully aware that her wild, aggressive manners would ruin any progress he'd made with the local Flight. Orion appreciates it immensely, and does love her, despite how he grouses about her getting mud on his finery.
