Farainne The Painter PGPs: He/Him DESCRIPTION He was always interested in color. There is the obvious, 'What colors look good together,' and he had a good knack for that as well, but Farainne was more interested in creating things that made people feel. It brings him joy to watch people as they look at his art. He loves the subtle changes in their expression as they begin to understand what they are looking at. |
When Farainne came to the Glade, he was stunned by the intense magics that permeated the entire area, and sought to use that magic to bring true life to his paintings. After thousands of attempts, he still had no luck in animating his creations. He could paint dragons in his own image, but he couldn't figure out how to give them life. It was a dark and lonely period for his art as well, characterized with lone streaks of dark color, and sometimes even destroyed canvases. He began to take less joy in watch people look at his art, because they too would be afflicted by the same negative emotions that plagued him. |
One day a quiet stranger wandered into the glade, no doubt drawn here by the quiet peace it offered. Farainne kept to himself, though did watch from a respectable distance as he perused his art. Several days in a row the newcomer perused the gallery before Tasha, the Denmother, forced Farainne to introduce himself. The two quickly became friends, and then more. Farainne told Ersidia of his experiments with his paintings and the magic of the glade. Ersidia almost immediately agreed to help, finding himself drawn to the idea of creating life.
With Ersidia's help, Farainne found success in animating color. While their early attempts created constructs and art that moved, eventually they moved onto a more ambitious project. Together they created a living breathing construct of magic and color. Aphra was their first creation. Her creation was blessed by the Arcanist, a breakthrough. Though she was still imperfect, unable to grow beyond her original form.
