Aoi

It has been unclear so far what Aoi contributes HeartWood... or even who first met him and let him join. It was almost as if he just appeared out of thin air one day as the dragons feasted on a meal. Saying Aoi has a dark sense of humor would be a grave understatement. He finds himself laughing at tragedies that others would be sobbing about. However, Aoi has become quite fond of the Plague Doctor Sardonica. He has dropped into the routine of visiting her quarters and talking to her while she works on patients. As long as anyone can remember Aoi constantly carries around a battered black leather book around his waist. Whenever he has a "stroke of genius" as he calls it, he scribbles it down. If one did manage to get their talons on his book and if they actually managed to decipher the torn pages of smudged black ink they would probably find themselves with a vast majority of emo shower thoughts and jokes that he would later tell to Sardonica.

through rain showers, bleak spring, and fall
through fog and mist and dusty groves
where petals wilt and saplings grow

through haunting steps and featherlight feet
a ragged breath; secrets made to keep
and a home made, within these walls
whereas no one looked and no one called

a burning star, so everlast
sardonic laughter and a twisted streak
when like finds like, fireworks leap

and infatuation is hard to ignore
an urge to be closer, a spot so sore
a desperation outweighed by dread
of what would happen if instead

where mountains high touch clouds of mist
and every deity-blessed, god-given gift
and pessimism so dear and near
but maybe you can find a new start, here
