Biography

Nova was born into a loving home and grew up without much trouble. Her parents taught her how to be empathetic and care for others, though she had a natural gift for it. She couldn’t help herself but to bring home wounded animals and sometimes even those pesky Beastclan-creatures. Novas father was not too keen about it, but as he loved his daughter he tolerated it. Her mother on the other hand didn’t mind at all, she adored her daughters compassion for others and encouraged her to become the healer’s apprentice.

The Healer was getting older and had already chosen the one to take his place, but he saw how passionate Nova was and decided to train her too. Nova and the other apprentice became close friends and helped each other improve themselves. As the Healer got older and weaker Nova’s lessons became fewer and fewer. Her friend no longer had time for her as he took over more of the Healer’s work. So she decided it was time for her to seek knowledge about the healing arts elsewhere.

She travelled around Sornieth for years, learning from the very best Healers she could find. Always curious and happy to help wherever she got the chance. Dragons who called themselves anything from Shamans to Doctors to Helpers. And one day she got a letter that commanded her to go to the war-stricken boarders. Her reputation had proceeded her by now and she was sought after, and of course she couldn’t turn down anyone in need of her skills - despite the fact that she hated wars. Unnecessary harm being done to both sides.

The dark dragoness used all of her knowledge to help both the Beastclans and her fellow dragons. Not everyone approved of that, but nobody could dislike the friendly and chatty Spiral. Not even the ones who hated the beasts she healed. And one dragon in particular, a young Tundra named Mosspelt, liked her more than just a friend.

Nova have had quite the impressive number of suitors but none before this happy male had really caught her eye. He always made her laugh, was happy to help her whenever he got the chance and boy was he handsome in her eyes! Mosspelt was her perfect match. And as a true romantic she was certain they were soulmates. Meant to be.

But it wasn’t too easy for them to find a new home. She didn’t like the cold climate of the Southern Fields where Mosspelt came from, and he didn’t like the warmth of the Lightning’s territory. Long story short, they decided to move to the Tangled Forest as it seemed to fit them both the best.

But as Mosspelt was a truly naive dragon, he put way too much faith in the Shadow Tricksters... He was told that it was a tradition for Lightning dragons that the males gave their mates a piece of jewelry when they settled down, and surely he believed it. Devastated that Nova hadn’t told him that she was expecting a gift after all this time, he desperately asked his Shadow-friends if they had something that Nova would be happy to get. And yes, they had a necklace that they all agreed would look gorgeous on the female Spiral. Little did Mosspelt know that the necklace was enchanted.

On the day of their one year anniversary he gave it to her. As soon as he locked it around her neck it started to glow, brighter and brighter until it was unbearable to watch. Mosspelt closed his eyes and covered his face as he got blinded, but with a small crackling sound the light vanished in the blink of an eye leaving the couple in darkness. As Mosspelts eyes adjusted again he looked at Nova with surprise - she was... a Tundra?!

At first Nova was upset, missing her long agile body. But she then realized that she now looked like her mate, and after hearing his side of the story she didn’t blame him. His naive way to see others was one of the reasons why she fell in love with him. He didn’t even think that the Tricksters did it on purpose, that they didn’t know that it was enchanted. Nova loved her mate too much to explain to him how it really was, and they continued their lives - now both as Tundras.
