CLAN FOUNDER Donsair is the is the patriarch of Clan Amaterasuf, and co-founder, along with his mate Ilayiah. He was a strong leader for many decades, but lately he has taken a step back, a "retirement' if you will. He has turned over most day to day operations of the clan to their new leader, Talayah. Donsair was also instrumental in founding the Lyceum of Light, a training university for dragons from all over Sorneith. Most hatchlings and young dragons see Donsair as the cuddly grandpa that they can climb in his lap for a fascinating story, which more often than not will teach them a lesson that they will carry with them forever. He is intelligent, loyal, and has a dogged determination that allows him to carry through any hardship. A born diplomat, he is always soothing ruffled feathers and settling clan disputes. His idealistic and sensitive nature gives him a deep appreciation for the finer things in life and a strong desire to be of service to humanity. It is far easier for him to express his deeper thoughts and feelings through writing than verbally. He finds great pleasure in literature, in poetry, and his ideals and will turn to them when he feels any turbulence in his life. Donsair is deeply moved by the beauties of life, especially nature. He was (and still is) the best poet of the bunch. Tundras typically have bad memories, but Donsair has overcame this by his obsessive record keeping and his thousands of tomes, scrolls, parchments and books. Although he is in semi-retirement from the clan leadership, Donsair is heavily involved in the school, and is eternally the head libraian for the Lyceum of Light. He spends his days curating the vast library and helping young dragons find the exact dusty parchment or book they need. He is happiest passing on the knowledge and secrets of dragon history. Even though he's rather have his head in a book, he is also a good warrior. He would rather not fight, but if he must, he is a dangerous adversary, as many of his foes have found out over the years. A veteran of several wars, he carries the scars ,inside and out, from these battles. Since the Lyceum of Light was established, though, he has found the pen is indeed mightier than the sword and is involved in politics all over the Sunbeam Ruins. He is very dedicated to making life better for all dragons, with the least bloodshed possible. He has established a council of elders from several clans in the Sunbeam Ruins, to mediate disagreements in territory, foraging grounds, wars and treaties. It's been wildly successful, with peace in the Ruins at an all time high. He hopes to spread this method of democracy all over Sorneith. |

TUNDRA The Tundra species originated from the Snowsquall Tundra. Though not the the brightest of creatures, this hardy breed survives by virtue of their toughness and ability to eat almost anything that grows. Their constitution allows them uncontested domain over harsh, barren tracts of land that other dragons are pleased to avoid.  The most striking feature of the Tundra dragons is their thick, shaggy coat of fur*. As winter approaches their coats become incredibly dense and spreads to cover the entire dragon. Flight with a full winter coat is difficult and only undertaken in times of need. During the summer season tundra dragons shed their winter coats, leaving their body covered in a much finer coat of fur, the hindquarters and lower wings exposed. Tundra dragons who join flights in warmer climes never see their winter coats. Tundra dragons possess impressive canine teeth used for combat. The majority of their jaw is set with flat, wide molars, perfect for grinding up scrub. |
