Arrie knew growing up that she was lucky: Lucky to have grown up with loving parents, lucky to have lived in such an accepting community, and lucky to have all that she had. She had wealth, though she was not nobility. Where some might have turned vain and thought themselves better than those around her, she grew up a Light dragon in the Ashfall Wastes. Her parents were Shadow and Ice dragons, respectively. She knew diversity, and so she grew open-minded instead of vain. It was hard not too. She was more out of ordinary than all those around her. One of the great upsides to her wealth was her access to immense libraries. She was surrounded by books growing up and found a love for escaping into the worlds inside of them. For hours she could lose herself in the pages, enthralled by the stories. Other times, she would indulge in the books of history or sciences. Learning became a great interest to her, and she would dedicate a lot of her time to the pursuit of knowledge. This lead her to become quite knowledgeable in her older life, and quite well spoken. She would impress those around her with her naturally inquisitive nature and her insights into the world around her. |

Arrie’s love for reading also lead her to become a great writer. Naturally living with her head in the clouds, it was easy for her to take her fantasies to the pen and paper. She collected the stories around her and spun them into great tales of heroism and romance. It only made sense that her own life would soon become an adventure. Arrie first met Damao at a gala. She had not been expecting to find any semblance of a relationship there, but she unwillingly fell in love. Damao was different. She was elegant in a way, even being lead around by her father in search of a potential mate. It did not take long for her to break free and and slip away to where Arrie stood alone in a corner, taking a break from all of the small talk. They laughed briefly over their situations. Their smiles were infectious. They came from very different lives: Arrie was a writer and a scholar, Damao a guard and a warrior. Still, both of their hearts sang for adventures. In Damao, Arrie found a story more enthralling than any she ever had before. She lost herself in it. When their love was discovered by Damao’s rueful father, he locked her away from the world. Their only communication came by tear-stained letters sent back and forth daily. With every letter to her love, Arrie promises she will be there soon. They will see each other soon. Every one written back inspires her more. Soon. Soon she will make her plan, help Damao escape, and together they can write their happily ever after... |
