Calamity

Calamity walked past the long dried riverbanks, her tail whipped around the long dead reeds and grass. She could feel a pull in her chest, a feeling of belonging and care. My charge must be close, it has to be. After some silent moments of walking, her claws crushing the dried plants as she crested a hill. The view took her breath away, a shimmering lake, the water a deep blue, near as dark as the sky during a stormy night. At the sight of the lake, Calamity felt fulfilled, her heart filled with an indescribable feeling as she ran down the hill, jumping slightly to glide down to the banks of the lake. Stepping tentavely into the waters, a realization dawned on the young guardian. How am I supposed to protect an entire lake? She sat in the small waves lapping the shore, and pushed the thought away, happy that she had finally found her charge. Nearby clans who used the lake for fresh water had to send representatives to ask permission by the red dragon, who didn't know her charge lay in wait under the calm waters of the lake.

-ended up leaving due to a mix of being an outcast and wanting to find her charge (mostly outcast, charge a bit of an excuse)
