"Ah, you must be the visitor my mother saw! My name is Gwen, it's a pleasure to meet you!" A handsome blue skydancer approaches you. His butterfly colored wings bore lovely shades of green and purple. His voice was slightly muffled under his strange mask. "Who saw me?" You ask politely. You have a strange feeling that he smiles at you… "Vela did. She's the chief of this tribe. She has a strange gift given to her by the Gladekeeper herself. She can see into the past, present, or future, at will! She's blind though, so be careful around her!" "Blind? How would I know if I see her? Will her eyes be covered or something?" You ask remembering the strange encounter with a blue skydancer that looks similarly to Gwen. "She has a blindfold of some sorts that helps her concentrate on her thoughts. Her familiar helps her get around. You'll know who I'm talking about when you meet her, no need to worry." "I think I already have," you admitted. Gwen laughs. "That sounds like her for sure! Here, take this." Gwen digs in a blue jacket pouch tied around his backside. He pulls out a small amulet shaped like a butterfly. "What's this?" You say as you put the amulet around your neck. You then realize that the butterfly pendant is made of diamonds as it glitters in your palm. "Dragons in this clan will know who you are. Vela doesn't speak often, but she did tell my little sister, Stargazer, about your upcoming visit who then spread the word of your arrival. Star has some kind of connection with our mother. Be sure to visit her sometimes, she enjoys company!" Gwen giggles one last time before joining a group of young dragons flying overhead. You get a sudden chill down your spine as you remember how Vela looked at you, almost looking right at you behind a blindfold. You even felt as if her eyes connected to your through the blindfold. How did she do that? You try not to think about it as you walk along a lovely stone path to meet the next dragon of the clan. |
