One of Thunder Hollow's most notable—and peculiar—residents, Janus is, quite frankly, a mischievous mystery. Possessing two heads by way of genetic mutation, and an enigmatic disposition to boot, he keeps the clan on its toes at all times. On an ordinary day, he can be found meticulously rearranging the escape room he runs in the Public Sector; the only time he's not making changes is when a game is actively in session. His rooms are immensely difficult and one of the clan's most alluring attractions, inviting attention from even the most uninterested of passerby. Only three dragons have ever succeeded in besting his illusions, a fact in which Janus takes great pride. The sheer creativity that underlies these puzzles has earned him a place as Councilor, and he has undertaken this new role with the same dizzying intellect as his primary project.

Janus' mutations created a great deal of hardship in his early life. Quickly disowned by his parents as an ill omen, he was forced to survive entirely on his own merits. Fortunately, his innate cleverness allowed him to endure the Tangled Wood in relative safety. He learned to quite literally outthink the threats that pursued him; his illusions and quick tongue easily baffled all pursuers. When he finally emerged from the gloom after being turned away from every clan he approached, he was a thoroughly resilient dragon.

Though he could have remained alive indefinitely within the Wood, Janus craved more than just an isolated existence. Wit is rarely useful in one's own company, after all. A grand tour of Sornieth commenced, with Janus pursuing any hint of acceptance. His path eventually pointed toward Thunder Hollow, a clan which gladly welcomed his strength and cunning into their number. He was thrilled to establish a storefront of his own and market his unique skills to the masses. Though still subject to many a wary glance from visitors (and occasionally unfamiliar clanmates), he found greater acceptance in Thunder Hollow than he had ever dreamed.
