Serene and graceful, Iridis was considered the greatest beauty in her birth clan. She was never allowed to become muddy or play in the dirt; she was told that such beauty was a gift from the Gladekeeper and must be treated with reverence and maintained in perfection. Chafing under the restrictions, Iridis discovered a gift for magic after she came of age. She hid it from her clan, not wishing for the worship her family would insist on being bestowed on her. After practicing in secret for weeks, Iridis felt compelled to investigate after a drizzly day turned sunny far faster than feasible. She discovered a quiet nocturne using a gentle magic to clear the damp away to travel in comfort. The younger Onni declared his intent to study magic in the Arcane lands, and apologized for causing worry. As he flew off, Iridis hurried home and packed her few possessions into a bag. She took off after the nocturne, making up for lost time and slower speeds by flying day and night. She finally caught up to him in Rotrock Rim, only to discover him under attack from a vicious clan of residents. Iridis unleashed magic she was unaware of possessing, driving off the attackers with eerie spells, twisting the environment and creating shards of crystaline magic. Iridis took the traumatized Onni to the Starfall Isles, and found a small clan nestled into the craggy spires surrounding the land. Finally able to relax after her harrowing journey, Iridis settled into studying the spells she had unleashed and helping her new clan with enthusiasm.
