He hadn't been part of the clan for long before he sensed change on the wind. A part of him wondered if that had been the intention already when they recruited him. Well, recruited perhaps wasn't the right term, but he'd been looking for a new home, and this clan, apparently, always had an eye open for those who would be a good fit. Be it through jobs or skills that new dragons could offer, or just offering solace for those in need, they didn't seem to mind welcoming new dragons into their midst.

It was hard to tell at times who the head of the clan was. There were a few strong dragons who seemed to lead, but important decisions fell upon a group of elders who, he later learned, had been here since the beginning. Regardless, things seemed to run smoothly enough, and he welcomed the rest and peace. He soon learned that the most recent important decision buzzing around was to relocate the entire clan to a new region of Sorneith.

The journey itself took some time to prepare for, but was orchestrated more easily than he thought a lair move could be. He was impressed. The lair itself had downsized a bit, some had moved on before he'd arrived, some after. There was a buzz of excitement in the air, both for the move, and for things to come. A few that he'd chatted with here and there talked of magical things like new coat patterns and markings for themselves, and even changing their colors through magic. He had never experienced anything like this, but from the way some of the elders looked at him, he wondered if he might get to yet. He later found out that many in the clan were working towards various goals, saving their treasures and sometimes pooling them together to help fund some of the clan's projects. And yet, despite the excitement, there was still a sense of calm and serenity here. It was nice.

The journey took several days, those who were able, flying, and those who weren't went on with the larger items of the clan that were sent on carts and wagons. Most of the clan took to the skies, stopping often to rest and regroup. Gradually the landscape transformed and eventually their destination came into view. Dragonhome.

He figured that some dragons would definitely struggle to adjust to their new environment, their new home being more out in the open and not as secluded as the thick of the Tangled Wood. However, this place was absolutely beautiful in it's own right. The group made their way across the sands, eventually coming to rest on a section of land with varied terrain. Flats, that gradually grew into rocky outcrops, blending towards the mouth of a canyon and beyond. He figured there must be some caverns in there to shield the clan from the environment and any potential threats. The walls of the canyon looked smoothed over from time, and he bet that venturing in further would reveal beautiful layers of different minerals and stones.

He was right. The walls of the canyon were smooth, almost as if the stone itself was flowing. Caverns and outcrops dotted their way along the land form, and from what he could see there would be more than enough room to comfortably house everyone. He paused and looked around, many other dragons stopping as well, looking around their new home in awe. Some had never ventured outside of the Tangled Wood, so this was completely new to them.

Eventually the dragons spread out and made their various homes in the caverns along the canyon walls. It was an exciting time, even he was excited as he hadn't spent much time in the realm of Earth. He planned to make a trip out to explore the landscape yet, and get familiar with the various native flora and fauna.

The real surprise came when the sun sank below the horizon, and the stars made themselves known to the clan. Dragons stared up at the sky in awe, as the expanse above them sparkled with colors they had never seen before from the forest cover of their previous home. He joined a group of them who trekked out of the canyon and up above it to perch on some of the ridges and watch the nighttime light dance around above them.

The night was warm and comfortable, peaceful and calm, and even though he wasn't born of Earth, as he gazed at the stars and felt the warm breeze on his face, he felt at home.
