Incident Report

Incident report regarding the attempted escape of prisoner SH-09937 and the loss of countless C-I lives.

Myself and two of my subordinates, Volca my head guardian, and Iris my head tactician; were away at the time as Warden Achilles had sent an important set of documents, and I felt it best if we personally retrieved them from the courier at our borders due to the information contained within.

When we arrived back at the prison, it was far too quiet, and I couldn't spot any of my Sentries and Overseers, dragons I personally trained and knew wouldn't abandon their posts for anything less than a dire emergency. So I ordered Volca and Iris to stay behind me as we cautiously advanced. The moment we entered we nearly choked on the stench of fresh blood and death.

It wasn't long before we came across the first fallen… some of our new arrivals, likely told to run and find us by the Guardian in charge, Guardian Valhalla, before her end. The further in we went, the more the bodies piled up, and the more I felt a sense of wrongness I had since entering became stronger.

We heard fighting coming from the main cell block shortly after, and we rushed to help. It was a massacre. We weren't in time to aid Valhalla, she fell to SH-09937, dealing great damage to it before she fell. At the sight of his sister in arms death, Volca rushed to confront the escapee, with myself and Iris following behind.

It was a grueling fight, but we managed to bring the beast down, in no small part to the wounds Valhalla and the others had dealt to it before we arrived. When we returned the beast's body to the cell in case it got back up as we were tending to the fallen, it became readily apparent the safety measures had been deliberately sabotaged.

I am taking responsibility for this oversight that led to such a tragedy, and will personally be investigating who did this. When I find them, death will be a mercy they will never get. But for now I request that the fallen receive the highest honours possible for their bravery and sacrifice of dying in the line of duty.

With a heavy heart, I sign off on this report.

About
plaguemidsmall.png

Marzanna is one of the first Carnage Ichors to be turned, as well as one of the first wardens in the order. She was originally supposed to be the head of the entire organization, but feeling she was not the best choice, passed that duty on to Kairos as she felt he'd be a much better leader.

She took up the duty of running a prison to the far north of the Wyrmwound, watching over the quarantine zones. Her domain is mostly dedicated to containing and studying shade based entities as well as cataloguing them. Her C-Is are considered the most obedient, and the most experienced with anything regarding the shade.

Recently her prison experienced a deadly incident in the form of an attempt on her life, that left all but two of her subordinates dead. Marzanna is furious, and is scouring the wastes for the one responsible, believing it an act or sabotage against the order as a whole and not an assassination attempt. It's said her fury and grief are felt all the way in the furthest reaches of the southern icefields.

Carnage Ichor Warden

Like their predecessors, Carnage-Ichor(C-I) too were young Seekers that Plaguebringer tricked into a deal for power but unlike their predecessors they are considered the stable version due to their acceptance of becoming monsters for her. Instead of white coats they sport a deep red from their acceptance of plague. Just like their predecessors, C-Is have Invulnerable coats, numerous indestructible horns, and the power to infect others with neurodegenerative diseases as well as a disease that causes one to rot quickly from the inside. They are often used as a last line of defense. The loss of their original selves has transformed them into cruel, bloodthirsty creatures who are aware of what they are doing.

Their bodies have also developed an immunity to all known diseases and infections that riddle the plague lands. This granted them their new jobs as "Guardians" of the Wyrmwound, where they are supposed to keep the law and order of The Scarred Wasteland.

Their first job was to chase away their Ichor predecessors, who were deemed as a failure.

They are highly revered as Plaguebringer's demi-gods. In historical murals they are often depicted as "The Ancient Wrath"

Wardens: Leader of their prison. In charge of ensuring that regulations associated with the order are obeyed and followed correctly and perfectly in the Scarred Wasteland. There are only a handful of wardens in the entire order and were assigned by Plaguebringer herself. Every C-I works under one. They are also known as the strongest warriors in their brigade. Easily noticeable with their glowing or primal eyes.

Loyalties
plaguemidsmall.png

Marzanna is loyal to the Plaguebringer and the order first and foremost, but is also loyal to those under her care as subordinates. She treats them like her own children and is furiously protective of them, as many she has trained since they first became C-Is. She was heartbroken upon many of them dying at the hands of a shade horror while she was away.

Now that protective nature is applied to the whole of the order, and should something happen to them, the entirety of the wastes will feel her wraith.

Like all Carnage Ichors, Marzanna has the following capabilities:
Regeneration
Invulnerability
Neurodegeneration Inducement
Monstrous Strength
Rot Inducement
Poison and disease immunity

Unlike her fellows, she has the following abilities due to her being an ice primal:
Cryokinesis
Flash freeze
Chilling aura

Eye Magic
plaguemidsmall.png
Primal Ichor are known to possess the raw essence of their element and the ability to unleash it like a weapon. They can easily destroy their opponent inside out by controlling their central nervous system. However unlike glowing eyed Ichor they don't have the same control and are often overwhelmed by their power. Natural-born prodigies can occur as well and Carnage-Ichor will often be encouraged to test for the Warden position but the fear of backlash is heavily implied since failure can cost them their life if deemed unworthy. They are either seen as an unstable burden or a natural blessing.

Karios

Boss/Colleague |
He/Him | C-I Order

Kairos is younger than her, turned later than her, yet is Marzanna's boss. One would assume there would be bitterness over this fact, but it was Marzanna who suggested him for the spot of head of the whole order. She believed it would help him grow as a dragon, and temper him, creating a great leader. She has happily been proven right, and is incredibly proud of what Kairos has done and achieved.

Honours

It happened one night as she slept, a soft crooning voice in her mind.

"My child, I call upon you, come to me."

And without hesitation Marzanna obeyed, getting to her paws and heading Into the Wyrmwound where the mother of the order sat stirring the great cauldron of blight. The goddess didn't look up from her work. Nor did she need to.

"My child, I have a task for you. Your brethren need a leader, one who is capable and commands respect. I believe you are that leader…"

Marzanna froze, her heart pounding in her ears, this was truly an honour!

Yet… why didn't she feel like this was the right choice? Like she wasn't meant for this position?

"My lady, while I am greatly honoured by your belief in my being the right dragon for this task, I must humbly disagree."

The goddess' stirring slowed minutely.

"Oh? Then who would you recommend, child?"

Marzanna's mind flew with who would suit the position best, but no matter how many individuals she tried to see as the leader, her mind returned to one individual.

"Kairos, my lady. He is a brilliant and a strong dragon that already commands the respect of his fellows. More than I for certain. He would be my choice, and I would follow him. He may be a bit rash and headstrong, but with time he would make a great leader for all of us."

She said confidently, raising her head to meet the goddess' eyes, who tilted her head ever so slightly.

"I see… I will take your words into consideration. I would still want you to take a leadership role should your suggestion be correct, do you understand?"

"Of course, my lady, thy will be done."

And while not verbally dismissed, Marzanna knew she was, and quickly retreated. She just silently prayed that her gut instinct was right.
