Biography

CORVUS
The Mentor
Mate of None
13241.png

Cheerful but strict, Corvus is the type of dragon people dream of. His overall attitude towards the worst of things can only be described as 'too cheerful'. Corvus is not a fool, he can tell when a situation has gone from bad to worse, and he doesn't take anything too lightly, but his overall take on things is to try and relax the others. After all, if you are tense the whole fight, you'll wear yourself out, no?

When he first showed up in the Icewarden's lands, he had lost his playful cheer until he realized all would be well. And it was! Of course, he suffered the price as he has had to wrap himself up since then, but it was the thought that counts. After such an incident, he has turned from cheerful to even more so, for his students. Those that he trains seem to have some sort of bad past. Something that pushes them further. Something that drives them. What good would it do to push them too far? While Corvus is strict in his training, he does not force his students into situations where they are uncomfortable, respecting their boundaries. If they like it or not, Corvus has begun to see himself as their father-figure in life. Or older brother. Either way, he is a friend to all.

Born in the ever shifting waters, Corvus never felt suited like his kin in the murky depths of the water. The large Imperial felt almost clumsy and ill-suited to be using the splashing tides to his advantage. So when adulthood reared, Corvus bid a blessed goodbye to his dragon kin and instead traveled south in search of his new calling. This search landed him in the cold domain of the Icewarden.

While Corvus was not suited for the waters, he was never prepared for the ice. He entered unprepared and struggling through the icy winds and snow that made it impossible for him to gain a sturdy footing or even flying. Hours went by before Corvus was much too weak to press on, his scales damaged by the sting of ice as well as his face and legs. It was in the snow he collapsed, and his memory fades him.

Whether by luck or the Icewarden's mercy, Corvus was found and brought into a clan of dragons by much more suited demeanor to the cold. It was here that Corvus was nursed to a better health than he had when entering, but not even the best of healings could erase the icy scars left behind by the gnaw of stinging wind and unforgiving wintery chill. Once to full health, and his scars covered by a many multitude of bindings, he was given the choice of returning home to his waters.. which he denied.

The Southern Icefield gave Corvus the challenge he had been seeking. To adapt to this new environment and thrive. He dawned a new appearance and demeanor to him in his new home, and was soon enough giving back to his saviors by teaching other dragons the art of combat he had learned when back home with the others. As time passed, Corvus was a well known and respected figure of the clan whom had completely accepted the bitter chill and had seen all to see; until Elysia showed up.

As she was taken in after her pleading and given a title of a mercenary, it was thus Corvus' job to train her in fighting and to defend herself. Whilst he was use to his pupils giving him a struggle and some.. sass, Elysia brought a new flame to the clan that he had not seen. He became deftly amused by this, and taught her despite her bitter attitude towards him in the beginning. It was only a matter of time that he chipped past her hard exterior, and the two became an unlikely pair of friends; due to this, Corvus is greatly worried that his young Nocturne friend will throw herself into danger.. and not return.
