Shadow Leviathans are dragonoid creatures but are not true dragons. They are the idea of dragons. A nightmare thought of dragons. They are apex predators in the Deeprealm and were spun into existence by the work of several gods to keep the Deeprealm Hunters from escaping into reality, or if they did, to hunt them down and destroy them.

Some sort of magic went… wrong? Right? That’s up for debate. These Shadow Leviathans were born more dragon than dream, somehow. They crawled up out of the swamp seeking dragon-kind. Or maybe seeking their next meal. Their ferosity is unmatched and their intelligence… wanting. They have a hard time speaking draconic but can if taught properly. It takes a kind, but firm, hand to turn them from being a simple beast.
