She is a creature of the haunted depths. Whether she was made there, born there, slunk into the darkness an aeon ago - she is there now. And she is watching.

The left head is a mischievous thing, one that would rather play with its food than kill it outright. She is more thoughtlessly cruel, more impulsive, more expressive. She feels each emotion and lets it flow through her, erupting into the space around Luminite. She is also the most openly caring of the two - bound by her emotion, she is more likely to share the care she feels than to hide it.

The right head is not so much as cunning as she is thoughtful, almost scheming in her actions. A serene thing, she is decisive in her decisions and withholding in her emotions. This is not to say, however, that she does not feel them entirely. Of course she does. Simply, she is more measured in how she expresses them.

Luminite has made her home, here in the darkness of the sea floor. Away from all others, away from the noise, away from the people. Isolated, but not quite. Others have taken the plunge, to trust that she will shelter them in that incredible pressure; they, too, have found home here. Jaguar, the child of the reef, who wandered too far. Nazoc, her grandchild, seeking new home. Over time, she has become protective over those who seek her out - and she is vicious when crossed.

S T O R Y

You’re a long way from home, little thing. Left tilted her head, scrutinising the worm that trespassed on her domain. It was a pathetic thing, shivering from the deep cold of an uncaring ocean and cowering under the weight of her stare.

Such bright scales… you don’t belong here, do you? Right grinned, a display of teeth made to rend flesh from bone. Luminite reached out with a claw, dragging it down the length of the little worm’s tail. Ribs made the path bumpy, the skin stretched taut over the bone and missing that oh-so-vital layer of fat. Right’s grin faded to a frown. Little thing, when was the last time you ate?

Too long, Left replied. She bent her head down towards the shaking thing, clinically noting the way he inched back from her. This was not an intended dive, was it? Where is your home?

“I don’t…” The worm glanced around nervously, its eyes glancing over the waterlogged architecture looming behind Luminite, lit in ethereal blue ever-burning flame; the other dragons loitering around her, perched on ledges and tucked under wings; back the way he came, obscured by the nature of the bottom of the ocean, dark and endless and unyielding. “I don’t know…”

You’re here now! Right snapped her teeth and straightened as much as she could, even as Left remained bowed and watching the little thing. Luciferin, feed the little thing.

A dragon who had been hovering over Luminite’s shoulder nodded, and disappeared into the murky darkness, her way lit by a bioluminescent bulb hanging over her head. Left stared at the worm a moment longer.

What is your name, little thing? She asked, after a long moment of quiet.

The worm hesitated. “...Jaguar.”

Jaguar, Left repeated, tasting the name in her mouth. She straightened up, gesturing with her head to the labyrinthine architecture behind her, a clan home buried beneath the weight of an ocean. Right watched her, giddy with the thought of another under her care. As my Other said, little Jaguar. You’re here now. Welcome.
