Uther

A dragon awoke in the wilderness, the magics of the Arcanist swirling around his fragile frame. The fae remembered nothing then of what had come before, and knew only that his purpose now was to find a place to nest, a place to build, and a place to lead.

Before the energies had even faded, the little dragon took flight. He searched the crags around the cliffs that lined the realm of the Arcanist until he found a cave - small, but suitable. Into the hole in the rocks he rushed, brushing aside dirt and debris with tiny claws until he had fashioned himself something resembling a home.

It was not long before he was joined. The first to come was a mirror, wandering and lost, without a purpose in her head like Uther had woken with. She had her name and nothing more, but with the purple of her eyes marking her as one of the Arcanist's own, the two agreed to share the new home that Uther had made for them.

Soon after, as they guarded a nest with a single egg, Uther was approached by the matriarch of a small clan from the Sea of a Thousand Currents. She had left her mate to their nest to broker a deal, to ensure good relations and new blood among the tribe. Uther was keen to agree, and so on the day their clutch hatched, the child was spirited off to the Tidelord's realm, and to theirs came one from water. Thus the tribe began to grow, and Uther was pleased with what he had built.

As the clan grew in number, Uther began to worry. He was small, and the clan ever larger. He found himself forgetting more and more that was needed to lead, and so he fashioned himself a little bauble to store his memories. Using his magic and a pearl he found while scavenging in the cliffs, he created for himself a safety net. Seeing his courage and his ingenuity, the Arcanist then blessed him with a change of form to go with his newfound memory, and he awoke the next day changed. Now a Pearlcatcher, with lines of magic growing into his scales, he led the clan with a newfound pride and purpose, and has since been unwavering.
