One of the youngest to ever sit so high on the council. Vayne is known for being petulant- he speaks more than half the other council members combined, and most of it is meaningless quips and taunts for a frustrated audience. Even Kelpie, the oldest and hardest to stir to anger, has snapped and tried to claw him before, and he comes to blows with Sasha nearly every meeting, the Fae doing her absolute best to silence him for good.

But as much as she doesn’t like to admit it, Vayne is indispensable. No other member of the council holds such favour with the criminal underground. Vayne can not only speak peacefully with the most despicable murderers and assassins of the town, he can convince them to lay down their arms- or, to point them towards someone else. Even the Twins do as he says, an honour reserved for very, very few.

And for all his petulance, this respect is for a reason. He is, at heart, a plague dragon, and he carries that mark the second he steps into a fight, always leaving drenched in blood not his own. And he steps into many, many fights. It is ancestral, to plague dragons- the leader fights with his clan. A battle that he is not willing to fight is one that should not be fought. To the criminals of the town, the other high council members are cowards, resting in their lofty mansions. But not Vayne. Vayne has shown himself willing to die beside them. And so in turn, they are willing to die for him.
