Horizon

Horizon is an independent fighter, known for her courage and brute force. She's never liked children, but she is one of the best Trainers in the tribe, so she spends most of her days around them. When she was younger, she wasn't the best student and didn't care much for her own Tribe. One day, she met a dragon from the Winter Tribe whose name was Digital, and became friends with him.

Horizon matured a lot over the years and completely turned her life around. Dragons started recognizing her for her skills, including the Ruler of the tribe, Azul, who placed her in charge of training the young dragons in battle. She became a respected and honored member of the tribe, and most dragons aspired to be like her. Still, however, she would meet up with Digital at night. She felt a bond with him that she hadn't felt with anyone within her own tribe. In the Summer Tribe, rules on cross-tribe relations were never strictly enforced, but most dragons got the idea that finding mates across the border made things complicated during times of struggle. If found out, others may not trust Horizon as much as they did before.

The guilt of these meetings began eating away at her. She was supposed to be a role model for all the young dragons. What kind of example was she setting by breaking such a rule, she thought, when it could hold some serious consequences for both of their tribes down the line? And so, she decided she would never see Digital again. That was until she had an egg. Horizon already dealt with kids on a daily basis, and that was stressful enough as it is. She never wanted eggs, much less Digital's. And so, she met up with Digital one last time, and he agreed to look after their hatchling and never tell anyone who the mother is. She hasn't seen him or their hatchling since. However, that wasn't the last time she had an unwanted egg. Down the line Horizon had found a temporary relationship with Bluejay, and accidentally had yet another hatchling. Her feelings on children still remained though, and her friend and ruler Azul didn't seem like he was going to have heirs anytime soon, so she offered to give him her egg. He agreed, and Cardinal lived as Azul's daughter, successor to the throne. The only dragon who knew about her relationship with Digital was Sandy, a dragon she was often paired with on patrols.[/color]

Goliath is a male Smoke Gyre which Horizon obtained at her coming-of-age ceremony. Dragons rarely see him, but are aware that if Horizon is around, Goliath is around too. He's distant, but protective, and watches her at all times from the treetops. He only comes down when it's feeding time, and will perch on Horizon's shoulder and peck at her until he gets his food.
