"You think you know pain, that is until you realise that the blood on your claws is that of your own brother's and you know that from this point onward, you will be made to never forget it. Where there once was anger, there is now guilt and gratitude; even gods must yield. Pale scars stretch across broad shoulders and warm fingers brush against bruised ribs. Gods do not die easily, but that does not mean that we cannot be imprisoned."
Written by shanncrafter!

Apollo... the damned, the spiteful, the god who was thrown away by his own hand. He was once the other half of the Lightweaver's heart and her son in blood but in one foolish, clouded action. He destroyed his mother's heart and his brother all in one terrible attack from his darkened heart, from the once pure and golden heart he had. The Shade grew in him, taking the place of him. Didn't even put up a fight... and it was all his fault... he believed there was only one way to fix his sin... and he performed it. And his soul was damaged in the process.

In time, his brother found his broken and weathered down the body, and laid it to rest the fields of Light they had born in. Making him a tome stone even. And he thanked his brother, from the left behind spirit he was, and his soul was taken to the darkest realm... for the crimes against the gods he had done. He had no excuse for it. And he was thrown to forever relive the point of where he had hurt his brother for as long as they saw fit.

He had no idea how long it had been since his sentencing, the days grew longer the more he watched himself perform his sin... the more and more his mind broke down and his hatred for himself worsened, eventually a demon approached him one day as he was reliving his sin. The demon named Mir. He had never heard of this demon, but he knew upon meeting him, this man had killed a god before.

Mir gave him a cruel smile, Apollo was more confused than anything, but the demon pulled him from his purgatory and brought him back to the world of the living. He got no word in this what-so-ever, as the demon didn't even let him speak. "From today on," the demon started, his words like acid to the ears and with a pounding headache to come, "you will be my servant until the end of days. I always wanted a God to serve me." He remarked, cupping Apollo's face into one of his bone like hands. Apollo grew pale. But anger grew in him. He, to be a puppet? Never.

"And if I refuse you, demon?" Apollo snapped. Slapping away his hand.

The demon didn't answer him back, just gave him a cruel smile of many teeth. And he turned into a shadow and wrapped around Apollo's legs, and he felt pain burning his skin. "Then I will do to you what I did to another god."

Apollo swallowed his saliva coldly. "I yield..." His voice was weak, but Mir had heard it and pulled away, with the same grin he had given. "I appreciated that we could see eye to eye."

Apollo was taken to Mir's odd home, which was in a very active city named Castamire, but he didn't like it here, people reeked of death and the Ruler didn't have a heart.. the other servants didn't seem to care too much for him, so he was frequently left alone without a job. Mir never used him, just left him in a cold empty room. He missed his twin brother Aries, but he couldn't face him or leave as long this demon kept him here.

Two years had been like this, the demon never, ever used him as a servant. Perhaps he was just a trophy for a fallen god... he laughed some. Useless. No matter. The time of the Hewn city was over, and so was everything else he was. Tears fell from his six eyes fell... useless and set to perish quietly without anyone he cared for. How fitting.

Meanwhile, Mir had actually grown bored of his godly prisoner... He had an idea to lure Apollo's twin to him, for fun. But he wouldn't be around for it. Since a full light god would destroy his being. So he took his family, and sent a message to a certain Child of Ruin... and waited to hear what would become of the weary and broken Apollo.

---

Eventually, the message came into the hands of Aries, the brother who had laid his bones to rest … disbelief ran through him since he would not think there would be any being that would dare disturb the grave of a god, but his fears were confirmed when he found the grave torn apart and the body within missing. Anger fueled his journey to Castamire, and it was only his patience honed by many millennia of living that kept him from just tearing the city apart in his search.

He was guided inside by the leader of the city, Teleri guiding him in his search. A low and familiar hum vibrated deep inside of the God – the two held a connection that ran deep in their blood and bones; it allowed them to sense when the other was nearby. Down, down, down they went, into the depths of the Catacombs. Eventually, Teleri left his side and Aries was left to explore on his own … coming into a long-abandoned prison. Inside was where he found his brother, chained, weakened, and wounded.

Hatred boiled over but it was quickly replaced by concerned and relief and happiness overseeing his own sibling. Their reunion did take a few more days to fully be completed; the chains that held the god down were not easy to break, even for a child of Lightweaver … but with time there was the success in breaking those bindings, and Aries was able to bring his brother back to a new home.

It took time for Apollo to integrate into the clan, and even now he is still adjusting to the new life that he had been given.
