Ildiko is a stained glass artisan. The glass she makes is unique, light as a butterfly’s wing and nearly as thin, but her creations never shatter: she enchants each and every one of her pieces with a protective magic, as she cannot bear to see a pretty thing break.


Insects and their delicate wings seem to intrigue Ildiko, and this fascination often manifests in her art. Many of her pieces are glass butterflies, the colorful wings of which can catch even the moon’s rays and refract them into a glimmering spectacle of light. There are some owners of these glass butterflies who claim to have seen one flutter about of its own accord; Ildiko merely smiles when asked about this phenomenon, claiming it’s just “a trick of the light.”
