Biography
Blightwing
Hunter and Companion of Viridian
Since the day he was born, Blightwing had to fight for the right to live. From hatching alone he taught himself to hunt, fly, and what to avoid in the wasteland, such as mirror packs. Packs were large and vicious, and if he could have it his way he'd have no part in one. But things don't always go your way. He was captured by a large pack and given the choice to join or die. Naturally, there was just one option.
The pack was strange. Rules and hierarchy kept all of them in line, and it was all held together by a spindly leader. He was a weak runt that should have died in the shell, but nobody argued with him. He gave Blightwing strange looks sometimes...
One morning he awoke writhing in immense pain. Above him, the pack leader scribbled notes in a book and examined him clinically, until he left, satisfied. His purpose completed, the pack left him to natures' will. After crawling across miles of wasteland, he collapsed.
He opened his eyes in a much kinder setting, a den so nice that he wondered if he'd died. Stranger still, a furred dragon cared for him. For weeks she nursed him back to his full strength, asking about him in the meantime. He was overwhelmed; this was more social interaction than he'd had his entire life. His weakness seemed to endear her to treat him kindly as well, which he couldn't understand. But he knew his simmering anger, and was resolute in his revenge.
He continued to boil until he was fully recovered. No sad smiles from Viridian could make him stay. He took off through the wastes, unfaltering in his hunt. On the fourth day, he tracked the pack to a shallow ravine. He waited for the cover of night before moving in, sniffing out the leader's lair. Just as Blightwing's enemy tried to kill him in his sleep, he killed the leader while he slept. Just like that, he sneaked back out.
His bloodlust quenched, his mind was once again clear. He considered his options and went back to Viridian. He ran the four days back again, excitement driving him faster and faster, until he finally reached her den in the middle of the night. He crawled inside and collapsed asleep, exhausted and happy.

Neither Blightwing nor Viridian have incredibly maternal instincts, and as Viridian can't remember anything of how she was raised, they decided to do it Blightwing's way. That is, leave the offspring in the night without a word, and if they are strong enough, they will find their way back.
Some found their way back to the pack. Most never did. Those who don't usually make it to other clans or packs, and the others are claimed by the Wasteland.
