"I've been to many strange places... but this is a new one." Vocnith remarked. They had both travelled slightly too far into the boneyard. They thought they were near Arcane, but it was hard to tell anymore.

"Scared of a little adventure?"

"No, not at all, but we must plan accordingly."

"Or we could play it by ear."

"Or we could plan accordingly. There could be a sandstorm."

"There isn't going to be a sandstorm, we'll make it to civilization." Khirva said cheekily and surely.

Perhaps she was wrong today. The winds seemed to pick up as night fell across Plague's desert sands. They had to duck into a canyon to avoid the majority of it.

"Well, a canyon isn't bad. Let's hope we don't stumble across any starving Mirrors." Vocnith had said.

"Cheer up, I see lights above the hilltop!"

"Lights?"

"Well, do you have a better idea?"

"No."

"Well, I guess we're going to have to stay there tonight. Perhaps they'll take to us kindly. I'm not one for pity, we've been through enough."

"Indeed we have."

Neither of them knew what the lights were, or what the implications of staying there could be, but they were about to find out shortly.
