TrenchTorrent doesn’t really remember his parents, both had been traveling dragons which quickly made their way to the ranks of the exalted. It didn’t really bother Torrent much since most Mirrors are quick to hunt and adapt on their own upon hatching, a gift of being PlagueBringer’s creations. Yet Torrent never surpassed amongst the other Mirror pups. He was not the fastest or the strongest or even the most cunning. He was not interested in wrestling or hunting, and while he was fascinatedby magic, he was not strong enough to gain more than Journey-dragon levels.

Declared the runt, Torrent desperately sought a way to fit in with the pack and prove his worth. He spent many nights searching through the Clan Library, looking for some power or spell to make him stronger, faster, or wiser. It was there that StormWing found him and offered to train him in the art of science and through her instruction that he found his direction. Though he was not adept in mechanics like his teacher, Torrent found the science of Alchemy more to his style, and together the pair have spent many nights and days happily testing out new concoctions and recipes.

He would have stayed in the laboratory all his life if StormWing had not pushed him to explore the great outdoors aka the Leviathan Trench. He needed to get supplies and treasure for his experiments, and prove his brews were more than just theoretically useful. Still he was fearful of the abyss, and rightfully so, and asked for help of the explorer and warrior, DeepDive, who accepted. The pair have made many trips into the Trench, encountering numerous dangers, treasure, and mysteries of the deep. It earned Torrent a good deal of respect in the pack, even earning the right to take a mate- AngelLure.

AngelLure to Torrent is a bright light of beauty and strength in his life. She defends him from the pack and supports his pursuit in alchemy with interest and approval. She finds ways for his alchemy to be useful, mainly in her hunting traps- but also in creating performances on the stage. He does wish she would pay more attention to him, but every moment with her is like basking in the sun.

Unfortunately, though his alchemy has brought him up in the ranks up the pack, it has created a rival in the form of AbyssViper. The vicious Spiral has taken his work as a sign of competition and has responded with befouling his experiments and stealing his notes. While her antics have made him anxious, and occasionally obsessive about safe-guarding his laboratory, he considers her just another thing in life he must adapt and overcome.
